Just Be… A Timeless Treasure

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

While mystics, philosophers and seekers of truth have been pondering this for thousands of years… the mystery of life was unceremoniously revealed to me one Saturday afternoon..

What began as an ordinary weekend of classes became extraordinary. An unannounced curriculum change opened our class to a special session. Richard, a third year student skilled at shamanic work, had been selected to take us first year students on a shamanic journey.

I was hesitant about visiting “invisible worlds” beyond ordinary reality. The thought of venturing to “Lower World” to meet and receive a gift from our power animal was scary. Suddenly a familiar inner voice whispered, “You’ll be fine. Trust the process and your inner guidance.” Instantly, meeting my power animal intrigued me and I began to wonder about the gift.

Richard prepared us for Lower World by describing the process and landscape. During the journey he would beat a drum and stated that when we saw an animal, we should ask if it was our power animal. If the animal responded “yes”, remember to ask for the gift. The journey began….

I stepped out of the tunnel into “Lower World,” and saw reddish-brown earth, tall trees, and very few animals. In fact, several minutes passed before seeing an animal that said no, it was not my power animal. There was however, this little bee that suddenly appeared three times during the adventure and then continued to follow me. Much to my surprise, the bee said, “YES” when asked if it was my power animal.

Upon returning from the journey, three classmates eagerly shared their experience describing elaborate adventures with their bear, dolphin, and eagle power animals. Initially, I felt out of place. My tiny “bee” didn’t hold a candle to the larger animals. And yet, when Richard inquired about my power animal and the gift, amazingly – everything clicked.

I recalled the bee saying, “Just Bee” as the gift. Interesting… nothing other than the bee. The bee, a symbol of accomplishing the impossible, became a powerful reminder of anything is possible. Aerodynamically, the bee’s body is too large for its wings and should not be able to fly.

A second later, I realized the gift contained within itself a deeper meaning. The bee presented just “be” as a timeless treasure. Now, it made perfect sense.

Just be… here, in the now – fully present!

Be present, it’s the gift you give to others! When you’re fully present with someone they feel acknowledged.

Just be… in the moment.

This practice allows access to unlimited creativity and opportunities that would go unnoticed if thinking about a past or future event!

Just be… yourself.

Everyone else is taken. Be who you are fully – without pretense. Showing up as you truly matters!

Thinking about Making Purchases? Beware of the following mistakes I have made.

Your life is a learning process – you can only become wiser from learning. Sometimes you might have to attract making a painful mistake to learn something important, but after the mistake you have far greater wisdom. Wisdom cannot be bought with money – it can only be acquired through living life. With wisdom comes: strength, courage, knowing, and an ever-increasing peace. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

Thinking about Making Purchases? Beware of the following mistakes I have made.

When one has to be careful of what is and has been made available, for us! The world over! No matter what you intend to purchase, use of hope to benefit from, read and be a more careful person than I have been, no matter one’s age or experiences in life. I hope you will benefit even though I have decided to do this now rather late, and embarrassed.

I am sending this message out via my blog to all readers and hope you will benefit from my mistakes and trust in what is and has been made available to all of us. I maybe putting myself on the line, but do not care, just beware!

1) I made a purchase of time share when I was in the armed forces, after a while I did not use them and tried to get my money back, silly; I know and failed. Now even today I get companies trying to sell them for me or even buy more!! (I am on the Telephone Preference Service! Otherwise known as the TPS system, that is not very good either)

2) I then made another mistake by purchasing a holiday home come share in a company that failed me and refused to return money spent (over £20,000) I could not use this set up for a while due to injuries while serving in the armed forces, that constantly needed repairing. After 2 years of No Holidays and having to pay the annual “Management Fee” of £800.00 I gave up under the threat of going to court for not paying the annual fee anymore! Even though they owed me 3 years holidays as I had paid them! Mistake was giving in but after the previous error I did make the mistake of just sending the certificate back instead of taking them to court myself!! A lot of money lost and faith in humanity!!! So do not even consider this company (even now I realise the prices are to the extreme) it is “Club Lacosta” they run apartments worldwide with the banking system in the channel Islands so escape our tax and Laws in the UK, (not that the government is concerned regards Support for errors and false companies). Never, Never buy from them, no matter what they say and offer! One company did make a promise to help and failed, perhaps they managed to retrieve my money and kept it, who knows as I never heard from them again..

3) The Daily Mail and Sunday mail news paper. Two months ago I found a what I thought was a great advert, often via the club site where one puts in the codes from the back of the paper to get points and eventually savings, ok! The advert was for face creams, I thought my wife would like and those were a payment offer but one hopes of value! I paid a little over £23.00 for them by (first mistake) filling in the form with bank details… Never again!! But the purchase came with other offers “Samples” No mention of a time or pay up, if there was it was in the smallest print ever! Then my new bank made payments of 2 lots of £ 80.00+ and still no “Other products appeared” I complained to the bank with the threat of legal action and there fraud department actually gave me the phone numbers of the THREE Companies that they know of, and they are at number “4” The fraud department seems not to take action about these companies either, do they really care about their customers? (2 months later they refunded those payments) But it came to light via an earlier text asking if I had agreed to the following payment (of course not) this was to a company under the name of: (remember I paid one company yet these crooks seem to work out of the same office, they must be!!The worst of this is that the press did not care and blamed the one company provider, this ended up with the following companies that ripped me off: Remember the advert did not say the companies names and the paper work does not match.

4) The one my bank checked on and cancelled was (via a text) “MAS* ELLEDERMA.COM” Why did they not stop the others? the others that ripped me off are: Stemalogica, Beauty & Truth. The paper work has nothing to do with the one paid for and no mention of a high price (each on expected over £90.00) for products one can get better products from shopping around. We now use local stores as before and very satisfied with the products. I have learned to stay away from one advert!  I am sure Ellederma products are available locally to you and I do know they are good but not purchased by this route. The others I have no idea of or about.

5) I now await some replies from these people and companies; you may be visiting me in prison. (If they dare, especially those that owe me money or products) Just be very careful of adverts.

6) I will let you know which prison I may be in, if a computer is available.. Good bye and beware.  Yes I am annoyed but partially my own fault for being naive? or too honest.

The Seven Secrets of Leadership

The message is clear but with my added PMA messages and picture.

Leadership lesson 8 stand guard at the door of your mind

7 Secrets I Learnt From The Leadership Pill by Ken Blanchard

1. Leadership is not just what happens when you are there. It’s what happens when you are not there.

This is a very useful distinction and should become an outcome for anyone who wants to lead. Team that functions even if the leader is not around is something unique and requires a different level of skills. The next points will give couple of ideas how to get there. A great leader builds their people. The better your people, the more free time you have.

2. Profit is the applause you get for taking care of your customers and creating a motivating environment for people.

Isn’t it an interesting twist in perception and sequence? There are so many organisations that do exactly opposite. This model helps to remove from constantly focusing on just getting a quick financial gain that looks good in a short term, but on the other hand it can strongly damage the two most important parts of your organisations: your customers and your team.

3. Leadership is not something you do to people, it is something you do with them.

Simple but powerful truth. If you are setting off for a team leading journey, remember to take your team with you. Communicate and involve. Simple but also so often forgotten.

4. The key to effective leadership is the relationship you build with your team.

An extension from the previous points. The relationship you build with your team should be the way how you judge your success as a leader.

5. Sharing the big picture puts everyone on the same page.

Effective communication will always be the key leadership skill while building a team. A clear vision gives the strong sense of direction, or even a sense of excitement and a powerful drive, if properly communicated.

6. You will go a lot further if you stop to refuel.

That is something I must admit I have been guilty of. It is so crucially important to pause, relax and change your perception with different activities, different people. So take time for sport, short trips, dancing, reading watching movies, hiking etc. If you are scoring and winning take time to celebrate, if you are missing your target and not really getting what you want, find time to reflect and get some distance to gain new perspective. Albert Einstein put it nicely: “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”

7. The highest achievement of a leader is winning respect and trust of your team.

Again, I love what Ken Blanchard is doing here. Measure your success of leadership not by financial numbers but trust and respect. These two ingredients will lay a solid foundation that will be a springboard for long lasting financial results.

Hope these 7 nuggets from Ken Blanchard take your leadership skills to the max!
Here’s To Your Success

From The Secret Daily Teachings

Remember to remember means remember to be aware. Remember to be aware in this moment right now. Being aware is seeing everything around you, hearing everything around you, feeling everything around you, and being completely focused on what you are doing right now.
Most people bring what they do not want because they are not aware that they are listening to the thoughts in their heads about the past and the future. They are not even aware that they are being hypnotized by those thoughts, and are therefore living their life unconsciously.
When you remember to be aware, you are aware immediately. You just have to remember to remember!  May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

The Power That Lies Within

Maria ErvingIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

In my teachings, the one message that I really want to emphasize is that there is nothing more important than to stay connected to the Power within.

It doesn’t matter what you call it; infinite intelligence, divine mind, God, Presence, it’s all the same, and it is within each and every one of us, waiting for our recognition of it.

When we are connected to source, to the infinite wisdom within, there’s inner peace and a feeling of safety that no beliefs in material or outside powers can ever give you.

Tune into the guidance by stillness and meditation, but also by talking with it, ask it questions and write to it by journaling, and most importantly, listen to it.

When we do this, when we go to source for everything, it brings us to the right place, the right people and you to them, and whatever you need will be given to you, whether it’s money, ideas or other resources that can help you evolve in life and expand in consciousness.

But we have to make a choice and once and for all decide what to have our faith in.

Truth is that there is no lack; only ignorance of our true nature, so when we are aligned with the power within and when we only listen to its guidance and promptings and completely ignore the world that’s talking about doom and gloom, statistics and work economy reports and what not, then things will begin to shift for the better.

The more we go within for guidance the more apparent it becomes to you that this power that guides all our ways always has our best interest in mind.

It loves us and wants only what is good for us and humanity at large.

It’s our true source of supply and everything else good, and once we acknowledge it the guidance and direction to a path of fulfilment will be shown to us and then it’s for us to follow that inner guidance no matter what seem to be happening according to mass consciousness.

Facts of life is not Truth. Truth is that there is a way out of any challenging situation and that is to go within and ask for help and it will be given.

When you make the connection and you stay true to it then no recessions, lack consciousness, or people talking about hard times, will be able to impact you or influence you, because you no longer buy into mass consciousness thinking.

Instead you’re aligned with Truth and have decided to agree only with that.

The Truth of who we are sets us free, and the Truth is within you, and it will show you what to do, bring you things and take you places you would never have imagined once you trust it and let it guide you in all areas of your life.

I invite you to close your eyes right now and ask it to help you with whatever you wish, if you have a a challenge, or a dream or vision for your life, whatever it may be, ask for guidance and direction, sit in stillness and listen and then follow the promptings you receive.

Answers and solutions may come up immediately or later on, but the most important thing is to know that if you have heard your prayer, then God has too, because you are One, there is no separation.

The power within knows exactly what to do. Trust it.

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. Francis of Assisi

Successful Networker Enrich The Power of Luck

Happy people never quit
Good at the beginning

…is another word for lucky. Someone needs to get lucky, and it might even be you, but luck is not a strategy.

Kids attitudeBecoming good in the long run, that’s the result of effort and tenacity and smart practice.

Not just the individual, the kid who doesn’t learn to walk the first day, or the violinist who doesn’t win a competition at the age of eight, but organizations and their projects as well.

The people who are good in the long run fail a lot, especially at the beginning. So, when you fail early, it might be worth realizing that this is part of the deal, the price you pay for being good in the long run.

Every rejection is a gift. A chance to learn and to do it better next time. An opportunity to figure out how to bounce, not break. Don’t waste them.

Sometimes, getting lucky at the start means that you fail to learn resilience and tenacity, and you lack the tools to get better. The long run is a lot longer than the start is.

Embracing the power user

Zipf’s law applies to more than just the letters in the alphabet. In just about every system and every market, a power law is in force.

Heavy users make markets work. There are a few people who eat out every night, or go to 30 Broadway shows a year, or send 200 greeting cards annually or buy $100,000 worth of jewellery at a shot. There are people who tweet every three minutes, individuals who work to have tens of thousands of Facebook fans or work overtime to be the top of the heap at door-to-door selling.

This is a given. Your power users will account for a disproportionate amount of your usage and attention.

The question is this: Is your project organized so that it benefits from the power users? (And so it benefits them in return?)

In the case of Broadway shows, not at all. Frequent ticket buyers do nothing at all to help the marketing or impact of a typical show. On the other hand, Twitter is designed from the ground up to grow as their power users push it forward. Wikipedia thrives on the work of just 5,000 power editors. eBay grew because just a few thousand home businesses used it as a platform to bring in millions of buyers.

Power users can pay you more or they can build infrastructure, or they can do outreach for you. The challenge is in finding them, embracing them and giving them tools to accomplish their goals as you reach yours.

Get rich (quick)

Enrich your world by creating value for others.

Enrich your health by walking twenty minutes a day.

Enrich your community by contributing to someone, without keeping score.

Enrich your relationships by saying what needs to be said.

Enrich your standing by trusting someone else.

Enrich your organization by doing more than you’re asked.

Enrich your skills by learning something new, something scary.

Enrich your productivity by rejecting false shortcuts.

Enrich your peace of mind by being trusted.

The connection economy pays dividends in ways that the industrial one rarely did.

"I didn’t have time"

This actually means, "it wasn’t important enough." It wasn’t a high priority, fun, distracting, profitable or urgent enough to make it to the top of the list.

Every few days, Twitter and Facebook soak up a billion hours of ‘spare’ time. Where did that time come from? What did we do before social media was here? Weren’t we busy five years ago?

Running out of time is mostly a euphemism, and the smart analyst realizes that it’s a message about something else. Time is finite, but, unlike money, time is also replenished every second.

The people you’re trying to reach are always recalibrating which meetings they go to, which shows they watch, which books they don’t read. The solution has nothing to do with giving people more time (you can’t) and everything to do with creating more urgency, more of an itch, more desire.

Taking your time doesn’t scale

When you send a hand-written letter to your best friend on the occasion of her wedding, you don’t rush the note.

When a long-term patient needs to hear your plan on how she will beat the cancer you just found, you don’t rush the meeting.

When your best customer just discovered that his critical shipment is totally messed up, you don’t rush the phone call.

The problem is this: we’ve scaled the number of contacts, of patients, of Christmas card recipients, of Twitter followers, of email correspondents, of investors, of backers, of Kick-starter supporters, of readers, of correspondents, of co-workers, of… we’ve scaled it all.

And the one thing we can’t do is scale our ability to take time.

So, this year, when you sent out 500 cards, of course you didn’t take the time to handwrite each one with a personal note. How could you? And recently, when you sent a blast to 500 donors announcing a matching grant, you didn’t personalize each note and leave out the people you told personally, because, hey, it’s a huge list… how could you?

Treat different people differently. You decided to get bigger, but you won’t be able to treat everyone the way you used to. That was your decision, and it’s one of the costs of bigger.

Treating different people differently is the only way you’ve got to be able to take your time with the few, because, alas, you can no longer take your time with everyone. And if you can’t live with that, get smaller!

The most difficult work many professionals do…

is getting someone else to agree with their point of view and take action.

The second most difficult work professionals do is developing a point of view in the first place.

All boats leak

There’s always a defect, always a slow drip, somewhere. Every plan, every organization, every venture has a glitch.

The question isn’t, "is this perfect?" The question is, "will this get me there?"

Sometimes we make the mistake of ignoring the big leaks, the ones that threaten our journey.

More often, though, we’re so busy fixing tiny leaks that we get distracted from the real goal, which is to go somewhere.

You already have permission

Just saying.

You have permission to create, to speak up, and stand up.

You have permission to be generous, to fail, and to be vulnerable.

You have permission to own your words, to matter and to help.

No need to wait.

The perfect day going to bed with a dream and waking up with a purposeMost likely to succeed

"Succeed" is in the eye of the beholder…

Most likely to hit a home run    Most likely to please my boss

Most likely to do the work  Most likely to work for free

Most likely to stick it out   Most likely to change everything

Most likely to be trustworthy  Most likely to attract attention

Most likely to be invisible  Most likely to be worth it

It’s not about you

Right in the front row, not four feet from Christian McBride, was every performer’s bête noire. I don’t know why she came to the Blue Note, maybe it was to make her date happy. But she was yawning, checking her watch, looking around the room, fiddling with this and that, doing everything except being engaged in the music.

McBride seemed to be too professional and too experienced to get brought down by her disrespect and disengagement. Here’s what he knew: It wasn’t about him, it wasn’t about the music, it wasn’t a response to what he was creating.

Haters are going to hate.

  • Shun the non-believers.

Do your work, your best work, the work that matters to you. For some people, you can say, "hey, it’s not for you." That’s okay. If you try to delight the undelightable, you’ve made yourself miserable for no reason.

It’s sort of silly to make yourself miserable, but at least you ought to reserve it for times when you have a good reason.
