Your Hero In Times of Need

Rob KayeIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

You are the hero you’ve been waiting for. No matter what challenge you’re facing, there is no one who can save you the way that you can. We all need support, but it’s up to you to take the first step.

Deep down within all of us is a strong spirit, an unseen force that we’re born with. I call it the hero within us — and you are the hero you’ve been waiting for. When you’re lost, when you’re feeling like you need someone to rescue you, that someone is you.

The most important thing you’ll ever do in life is take care of yourself. Find out who you are, what you need, what you want. The more you take care of yourself, the more the universe will take care of you.

The longest distance is from the head to the heart. Sometimes we focus so much on being the figure out there that we forget to enjoy life. It’s good to take a break from thinking and just live from the heart more. Sometimes the best solution to any challenge is to leave it alone and go have some fun.

Go where it’s warm. You don’t have to chase unavailable people. You don’t have to change them or change yourself for them. Choose people who, when you need them, run to you instead of running to the hills.

It’s so powerful to go from can’t to won’t. “I won’t be in this bad relationship anymore. I won’t work at this job anymore.” When you go from can’t to won’t, then you go from being a victim to being empowered.

People want to be heard. Listening is underrated.

You don’t have to get anyone’s approval anymore. You’re not asking for approval, you’re giving it.

Look people in the eye. Let them really see you.

Life is meant to be enjoyed. Really.

In any situation, when the pain outweighs the pleasure, it’s time to go.

Sometimes just accepting something for what it is helps alleviate the obsession to change it.

You and your romantic soul mate will meet at exactly the right time when you’re both ready. Until then, focus on the soul mates you already have in your life. Maybe it’s a family member, a friend or a co-worker who is a special person in your life.

I think the next stage of the sexual revolution is going to be where men are accepted for being sensitive yet still strong and women are accepted for being strong yet still feminine.

Relax. You don’t have to figure it all out today.

Listen to your intuition. It’s a great guide for you.

Don’t give up. Most people don’t achieve their goal because they gave up too soon. It may be a hard climb, but if you stay the course, you will eventually succeed. It’s inevitable. If you feel like you’re having trouble keeping the dream alive, take a breather and get some rest. You’ll get your second wind. Whatever it takes, don’t give up.

Believe in yourself and your abilities. That is the only way to attract wonderful things into your life. Don’t waste your time thinking that you cannot do something. Dr. Steve & Frank

A wise man watches his faults more closely than his virtues; fools reverse the order.  We all have within us the potential for greatness or for failure. Both possibilities are an innate part of our character. Whether we reach for the stars or plunge to the depths of despair depends in large measure on how we manage our positive and negative potential. It is doubtful that, if left unchecked, your virtues will rage out of control. Unfortunately, the reverse is not true about your faults. Left unattended, faults have a way of multiplying until they eventually choke out your good qualities. The surest way to control your faults is to attack them the moment they appear. – Napoleon Hill

Seth Godin-You have no credibility (yet)

Credo for Success
Whatever the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve. – Napoleon Hill

A man I follow is the great Seth Godin, his blogs and messages are among the best!
You have no credibility (yet)

You believe you have a great idea, a hit record, a press release worth running, a company worth funding. You know that the customer should use your limited-offer discount code, that the sponsor should run an ad, that the admissions office should let you in. You know that the fast-growing company should hire you, and you’re ready to throw your (excellent) resume over the transom.

This is insufficient.

Your belief, even your proof, is insufficient for you to get the attention, the trust and the action you seek.

When everyone has access, no one does. The people you most want to reach are likely to be the very people that are the most difficult to reach.

Attention is not yours to take whenever you need it. And trust is not something you can insist on.

You can earn trust, just as you can earn attention. Not with everyone, but with the people that you need, the people who need you.

This is the essence of permission marketing.

When I began in the book industry thirty years ago, if you had a stamp, you had everything you needed to get a book proposal in front of an editor. You could send as many proposals as you liked, to as many editors as you liked. All you needed to do was mail them.

In my first year, after my first book came out, I was totally unsuccessful. Not one editor invested in one of the thirty books I was busy creating.

It wasn’t that the books were lousy. It was me. I was lousy. I had no credibility. I didn’t speak the right language, in the right way. Didn’t have the credibility to be believed, and hadn’t earned the attention of the people I was attempting to work with.

Email and other poking methods have made it easy to spew and spray and cold call large numbers of people, but the very ease of this behaviour has also made it even less likely to work. The economics of attention scarcity are obvious, and you might not like it, but it’s true.

The bad news is that you are not entitled to attention and trust. It is not allocated on the basis of some sort of clearly defined scale of worthiness.

The good news is that you can earn it. You can invest in the community, you can patiently lead and contribute and demonstrate that the attention you are asking be spent on you is worthwhile.

But, no matter how urgent your emergency is, you’re unlikely to be able to merely take the attention you want.

Do it now! Decide where you are going and how to get there. Then make a start from where you now stand. Napoleon Hill

If I could share 500 words of wisdom to summarize what I’ve learned so far in life, these are the important things I’d want to pass along to others…

In today’s culture of instant gratification where everything is available at the touch of a button and success is measured in viral terms, we tend to dismiss anything that doesn’t result in instantaneous, mega success. So what happens if your dreams appear too big, too difficult or too impossible to attain?

I am a dreamer and I believe that everyone who has a dream should pursue it and discover the possibilities that exist in the process.

A dream, that "strongly desired goal or purpose," usually applies to something better than what you have. You live in a shack and dream of one day living in a big beautiful house. A waitress fantasizes about owning her own restaurant; a high school athlete aspires to play in the NBA; a copy editor wants to write that best-selling novel. One person desires to travel the world, another to attend college or become a doctor.

The list goes on with dreams as varied as there are individuals, but they all indicate a strong desire to be somewhere, do or have something that seems totally unattainable.

Dreams give a sense of direction, something to reach for. The problem is most people talk about their dream and do nothing about it. When I spoke of going back to college as an adult to complete my bachelor’s degree, several of my friends indicated their desire to go back to school as well. I graduated several years ago while they never attempted to even register at a university.

I have dreams that came fully true; some that came partially true and some that never materialized, but I keep dreaming. Some of my life’s desires were fulfilled purely as a blessing from God. I did nothing to set the circumstances that put them in motion.

However, in most cases if you really want something, you have to reach for it by taking the necessary steps in the direction of achieving it. Like Walt Disney said, "Dreams can come true… if we have the courage to pursue them."

A lot of people are deterred by the fact that not all dreams become reality, and fail to consider the benefits of acting on theirs. Reaching for those inner desires in your heart gives you something to strive for, and helps you set goals for yourself. Following your passion keeps you actively engaged. The effort stretches you and empowers you.

Consequently, even if you don’t reach your intended target, you’ll still be further ahead than where you were. Les Brown, the motivational speaker, says it best, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars."

I say follow your dreams and keep the faith. Sometimes, however, the blessing may not be in the intended destination but rather in the process that makes your life considerably richer and so much more interesting.

Dream! Believe and achieve! But most of all enjoy the adventure and the wonderful journey that is life, for following the vision in your heart keeps your spirit alive.

· To harness the force of love in your life to bring something you or change something you don’t want, the Creation Process is always the same: Imagine it. Feel it. Receive it.

· Your imagination connects you to what you want. Your desire and feelings of love create the magnetism, the magnetic power, drawing your desire to you!

· Imagine yourself being with your desire. At the same time, feel love for what you’re imagining.

· When you imagine anything positive that you want and love, you are harnessing the force of love. Push your imagination to the limits, and imagine the best and highest that that you possibly can of whatever it is that you want.

· Whatever desires you imagine already exists! It doesn’t matter what it is: if you can imagine it, it already exists in creation.

· In conversations and in your thoughts say, “Imagine if …” and then complete the sentence with what you want.

· Use props. Surround yourself with items of clothing, pictures, photographs, and relevant objects, so you can imagine and feel the feelings of having what you want.

· Your senses are props too. Use all your senses to help you feel that you have what you want. Feel it, taste it, smell it, see it, and hear it.

· When you have completed your part in the Creation Process, you have moved into a new world that contains the very thing you want even if you can’t see it yet. Know you will receive it.

I never see failure as failure, but as the path I will not take in the further journey towards my greatness.

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

Lucira Jane NebelungIf you are discouraged by all the discord you see in the world, I would like to share the one change that changes everything: changing how we lead. We hold the key to move beyond hope and through transformational change by looking at life differently and making different choices.

We frequently use the terms leadership and management interchangeably as if they mean the same thing. They don’t. We lead people and manage things, such as work and the everyday tasks of our lives.

Leading is about our humanness, our relationships and our interactions with each other. Leaders are those who choose to make the shift from success – acquiring and accumulating material things – to significance – making a positive difference in everyone’s life.

Leading is about possibility and potential. It is about creativity and innovation. It is about our well-being and fulfilment and generating common good. It focuses on our purpose and meaning, our connection and contribution, and our growth and mastery. It is about collaboration and cooperation to solve our common problems. Leading is about diminishing our three universal fears of not having support, not being in control and not feeling adequate, so that everyone thrives and realizes their potential.

And what diminishes these fears? How do we ensure that everyone thrives? By leading as love. Leading as love means that we respond with care, understanding and respect. It is living the belief that love makes a leader a leader.

Leading as love is who we are. Leading as love is a state of being, a philosophy, an approach to life that permeates all that we do. Leading as love is an art that we are always practicing and evolving and mastering.

So, if you are in a leadership role, I ask you to consider what I am saying in what you stand for and how you show up. If you are a “follower”, I ask you to consider if the leaders you follow are there to support the common good and help each and every one of us to be the best we can be and have the life we want. In this way, if you make this choice, you lead as love and so you are also a leader.

We can change the world by changing our personal beliefs about this one thing: What makes a leader a leader? When we change our beliefs our actions will be different through our choices for who we are as leaders and who we follow or support. Every choice – who you work with, how you vote, what you buy – makes a difference.

Remember this criterion: Love makes a leader a leader. Care, understanding and respect for everyone and everything in life. We all deserve nothing less.

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure." Bill Cosby
