The powerful connection between your mind and your success

PMA Added only…

If you have "needing money" in your vibration, then you will keep attracting needing money. You have to find a way of being happy NOW, feeling good NOW, and being in joy NOW, without the money, because those great feelings are how you will feel with the money. Money doesn’t bring happiness – but happiness brings money. May the joy be with you,

From Jack Canfield

There is a very powerful connection between your mind and your success.

For instance, increasing your income is largely determined by the limiting beliefs and negative habits that were programmed into your brain at a young age.             It’s true.

Did you grow up hearing things like:

"Money doesn’t grow on trees."

"We can’t afford it."

"All rich people are evil."

"We’ll never be wealthy."

"Money is the root of all evil."

These phrases seem harmless, but they act as instructions to your subconscious mind. They are the seeds that grow into the limiting beliefs and thought patterns that determine how you think or feel about money today, as an adult.

And most of these beliefs have been programmed into your mind for years, so much so that they’re practically part of your wiring.

It’s no wonder why so many of us struggle to earn more money, follow our dreams, or have the relationships we want. Sometimes it’s to the point where we don’t even feel comfortable asking for or receiving those things when it does come into our lives.

But there’s good news…

If you’ve ever felt like there was something holding you back from success that is out of your control, I invite you to check this out…

John Assaraf, my friend, co-star in The Secret, and fellow New York Times Best-Selling author, is the founder of NeuroGym and will be hosting an incredible live event this Saturday that can help you remove all of the mental or emotional roadblocks that are preventing you from achieving your goals.

To late for the event but check the link out…  Gray, if of interest of course!

Learn more about Brain-A-Thon by watching my short video and reserve your FREE spot today!

For the past six years, this event has changed the lives of over 1,000,000 attendees, including some of my students.

This year, John told me that he’s gathered 7 of the world’s top brain science and success experts to help you "rewire" your brain.

In fact, John and his team of experts are going to teach you more about positive thinking, creating wealth, and achieving your goals in one day than you’ve learned in your entire life. Most of these trainings have never been seen before publicly (and might never be seen again).

I’ve seen it for myself, and it’s truly incredible.

To your success,

9 Lies to Unlearn Before its Too Late

It’s not your work to make anything happen. It’s your work to dream it and let it happen. Law of Attraction will make it happen. In your joy, you create something, and then you maintain your vibrational harmony with it, and the Universe must find a way to bring it about. 9 Lies to Unlearn Before it’s Too Late

The worst lies are the ones you tell yourself over and over again – the ones you live by.  Perhaps someone close to you ingrained these lies in your mind, perhaps you were influenced by the negativity of popular media channels, or perhaps they grew from simple, innocent misunderstandings.

Either way, next time you decide to learn something new for the sake of self-improvement, start by unlearning a lie that has been deceiving you.  Here are nine lies I have unlearned in my own life:

1.  Happiness is about getting what you want.

There are two ways people try to find happiness.  One is to continue to accumulate more and more of what they think they want.  The other is to appreciate what they already have.  The latter is the right path.  Happiness isn’t about getting what you want; it’s about wanting what you’ve got.  Happiness is not a goal, it’s a by-product of living well in each moment.

To be happy doesn’t mean you don’t desire more, it simply means you’re thankful for what you have and patient for what’s yet to come.  Sometimes it’s easy to get so caught up in trying to accomplish something big, that you fail to notice the little things that give life its magic.  So appreciate today for all it’s worth.  Today is one of the good old days you’re going to miss in the years ahead.

2.  Success looks a certain way.

You are not in this world to live up to everyone else’s expectations, nor should you feel that everyone else is here to live up to yours.  You’ve got to pave your own distinct path.  What success means to each of us is different.  It’s about spending your life happily in your own way.

You have your own personal calling that’s as unique as your fingerprints.  The best way to succeed is to discover this calling within you and then find a way to offer it to the world in the form of a beneficial service.  Ultimately, if you can wake up every morning and do something that makes a positive difference, makes you proud, and makes you smile, before you get back to bed, you are a true success.  (Angel and I discuss this process in the Success and Passion chapters of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.)

3.  A busy day is a productive day.

“Work smarter, not harder” is one of the most common clichés in the personal development space.  But like most clichés, few people actually do it.  Go ahead and take a look around; the busy people outnumber the productive people by a wide margin.  Perhaps you’re one of them.

Busyness seems impressive.  It puts you in the heat of the action.  It gives you an elevated sense of accomplishment.  You’re always late for social engagements, barely have enough time for family get-togethers, and hardly get a moment to yourself.  Emails and texts are shooting out of your smartphone like machinegun bullets, commitments and meetings fill up your entire calendar, and sleep is an afterthought.  You’re like a rock star without a record.

Of course, it’s all just an illusion.  A commitment to anything more than the essential is to work harder, not smarter.  So flip it around and work smarter by putting first things first.

4.  To be brave is to not be afraid.

Truth be told, the only time you can be brave is when you are afraid.

Being brave is when you do something, regardless of your fears, because you know it’s the right thing to do.  In other words, you are afraid to do it because there are unknowns, but then you go ahead and do it anyway.

Whatever course you decide upon in life, there is always the possibility that something will go wrong.  There will always be difficulties arising that tempt you to fear that you don’t have what it takes.  To map out any course of action and follow it to an end requires bravery.  (Read Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.)

5.  To be strong is to not feel pain.

Life is often painful.  It requires a worthy struggle for growth and experience.  Anyone who says differently is selling a lie.

The strongest people are the ones who feel pain, accept it, learn from it, and fight through it.  They turn their wounds into wisdom.  It’s all about having the courage to take a break, to shed a tear, to dust yourself off, and then to get back in the ring to fight like you’ve never fought before.

6.  Everyone around you is holding you back.

Many of us don’t genuinely want to be responsible for our own fate.  Perhaps we daydream about “fulfilling our dreams,” but we leave those dreams firmly in the realm of fantasy.  We don’t research them, talk to people about them, read related books, etc.  Somehow we prefer the fantasy to the reality.  And there’s nothing wrong with that, until we say that someone else is “holding us back”.  That turns an idle fantasy into a barricade of lies.

The truth is, if you’re not working on something meaningful today, the only person holding you back is YOU.  If you aren’t doing anything about your goals and dreams, you have no one to blame except yourself.  Either you take responsibility for your life or someone else will.  Blame is a scapegoat – it’s an easy way out of taking accountability for your own outcome.  It’s a lot easier to point the finger at someone or something else instead of looking within.

When it comes to working hard to achieve a goal or dream – earning a degree, building a business, or any other personal achievement that takes time and commitment – one thing you have to ask yourself is:  “Am I willing to live a few years of my life like many people won’t, so I can spend the rest of my life like many people can’t?”

7.  You are automatically entitled to certain things from others.

People are sometimes led to have a sense of entitlement because they falsely believe they are owed something based on the social role they have chosen.  For example, if someone has accepted the role of being someone’s friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, they feel entitled to get certain favours from the other person.  If someone has accepted the role of being a parent, they feel entitled to being respected by their children.  If someone has accepted the role of being a consumer, they feel entitled to be served to their specific wishes.

Of course, these expectations of entitlement often go unfulfilled.  Why?  Because nothing in this world is promised.  Regardless of your chosen role in all your relationships and walks of life, you don’t automatically get any more than you openly communicate, negotiate, and work for.  (Read The Road Less Traveled.)

8.  You will feel comfortable when the time is right.

So many of us complain about the boring repetition present in our daily routines, yet we choose no clear course for correction.  We want to change something, but we never think the time is right.  Why?  Because the very source of our boredom also provides a solid foundation of comfort.  We are comfortable with our current surroundings.  Steering off the known track is risky, and we are subconsciously scared of what might happen if we do.

So, what happens when we stick to the current track?  Nothing.  We jog along the same circular track at a steady pace daily.  We pass by the same mile marker at the exact moment we did yesterday, and the day before, and the week before that.  There is not a worry on our minds because we already know the terrain that lies ahead.

If something makes you a bit nervous and uncomfortable, it means you’re doing it right and growing.  All great opportunities in life will force you to grow emotionally and intellectually.  They force you to stretch yourself and your comfort zone, which means you won’t feel totally comfortable at first.  And when you don’t feel comfortable, you will likely assume the timing isn’t right, even though it is.

9.  It’s already too late.

Nothing is too late until your tired heart stops beating.

If you’re reading this right now, congratulations, you are alive, which means it’s not too late for you.

Things can change if you want them to, at any age.  Right now you can choose differently and make something new happen.  Your future is immediate.  Grab on to it with both hands and keep on moving on.  When you come up on a roadblock and are faced with the choice of sitting down and doing nothing or doing something to make further progress, choose the latter.  Think, work, and climb if you have to.

Move your life forward.

The floor is yours…

What self-defeating lies do people often tell themselves?  What’s one self-defeating lie you once believed was true?

Giving opens up the door to receiving. You have so many opportunities to give every day.

Give kind words. Give a smile. Give appreciation and love. Give compliments. You can give courtesy to other motorists while you are driving. You can give a smile to the car parking attendant. You can give a warm greeting to the newspaper stand person or the person who makes your coffee. You can give by allowing a stranger to go ahead of you into an elevator, and you can give by asking which floor they are going to and pressing the button for them. If someone drops something you can give a helping hand and pick it up for them. You can give warm embraces to those you love. And you can give appreciation and encouragement to everyone. There are so many opportunities for you to give and thereby open the door to receiving.  May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

How can you make a big dream come true?  You need to have one secret element, and when you have that secret element, nothing will get in your way. That element is an intense desire! You must desire something with all of your heart to manifest it. Often the difference between those who manifest something and those who do not, is the element of desire. When you have a burning desire for something you ignite a fire within you that attracts with an incredible force. The law of attraction is magnetically drawn to that intense fire element in you, and it responds by gathering all universal forces to make your dream come true.

Very often we ask for things because we think our life will be better with those things, but inside of us we do not have an immense desire for those things. When you don’t feel that immense desire within you, you are receiving guidance telling you that this is not something you really want. That is why it is so important to get clear on what it is that you really want with all of your heart, because what you really want with all of your heart is the very desire that you can manifest quickly.                                                  When your heart is on fire with desire you will attract the right things to do, you will find visualizing so easy, and you will find it is effortless to think positive thoughts of your desire. You will attract all the qualities you need, such as strength, courage, belief, persistence, faith, and a powerful will. An intense desire lights up your being, producing a magnetic force that enables the law of attraction to cut through every physical obstacle for you and make your dream come True .                                                                                                                               Go for your dreams! Don’t cheat yourself in your life with petty desires because you don’t think you can live your dream. 3 Steps For Fearlessly Following Your Dreams

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

Following your passions, listening to your heart and soul’s purpose, and even throwing caution to the wind when following a whim can be great for spontaneous, inspired living. Too often, however, people take huge risks in the name of following their heart’s desire, without realistically addressing the risks and fears. In the pursuit of following our desires, we lose all semblances of common sense and just hope and dream that everything will work out.

Fear can often be our friend. It can be a useful tool to help us discern when we are unprepared – perhaps putting ourselves in financial or emotional danger. Fear can also run rampant, totally out of control without context if we don’t address it head on, and confront what we are really scared of.

Tapping into creativity and following one’s gut is paramount in building a successful business, but you’d better have a plan too. If you don’t, fear can come up and paralyze you, and rightly so. In business, fear is often an indicator that you are off track, that the extra expense wasn’t planned for, or that a customer isn’t going to pay.

I want to share a practical way to address your fears and the risks of following your dreams.

  1. When working on a new project, list all of your fears.
  2. Discern which ones are ‘real’. For example, maybe you think I won’t have enough money. Or No one will like what I have to offer.
  3. Address each fear with a plan of action. Maybe you save for three extra months or cut costs before venturing out. Or, perhaps you do a bit of test marketing to discover what your clients really want.

If you discover the fear is totally unfounded and it is a subconscious or pattern in your life, then you can find a way to ease your fears and start taking small daily steps to build up your confidence and calm the fears.

Perhaps you have a fear of starting your own business. That might be a a realistic fear with lots of real dangers – but if you’ve got strengths, talents, clients and expertise in your field, then you’ll have confidence to build from. (No clients yet? Go get just one. Nothing calms entrepreneurial fears like a paying client!)

It is amazing how a plan helps turn fear into butterflies – life plans built from excitement rather than from unnecessary worries.

When fear comes up to bite you in the face, don’t just turn your back on it, or just plow through and ‘do it anyway’. Take a step back for just a day or a moment, and determine what that fear, if anything, is trying to tell you. Then, when you’ve addressed the fear with a plan, you’ll discover it magically disappears. I call this following your heart, and using your brain!

You come finally to believe anything you tell yourself often enough — even if it is not true.
If you repeat something over and over to yourself, your subconscious mind will eventually begin to accept it as fact. When something has been accepted as truth by your subconscious mind, it will work overtime to transform the idea into physical reality. You can take advantage of this by programming your mind to think positive thoughts. Use self-motivators or affirmations to persuade your subconscious that you are capable of doing anything you wish. Repeat the self-motivator several times a day until it becomes an automatic reaction to recall a positive phrase whenever you begin to doubt yourself. Replace “I can’t” with “I will!” Napoleon Hill

Chester GoadIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

The God of the Universe breathed power into you. You are alive. So live. Because you have received power from the greatest Power you have the ability to overcome, to move forward, to effect change, to make a difference. Do not squander your power. Certainly, joy comes when we extend compassion and service. But sometimes. Sometimes you have to come first. We worry it’s inappropriate, selfish, or even narcissistic to ever consider putting ourselves first. For whatever reason, sometimes we relegate ourselves to the end of the line. Maybe we feel we’re not worthy. Maybe we feel undeserving. Maybe we feel ashamed. But make no mistake, you are worthy, you are deserving, because you matter.

Accept the possibility that in order to live your purpose you may need to put yourself first for a while and that’s okay. It is difficult to show compassion and strength when we refuse to value ourselves or extend compassion within our own lives. God would not have breathed the power of life into you, if you did not have great purpose. When you’re reluctant to leverage your purpose and your power to make a difference in the lives of others, you’re missing out on opportunity after opportunity, after beautiful opportunity. You matter, you are capable, and you have purpose—but are you willing?

Do not let fear or safety lull you into an icy existence devoid of ever experiencing what it feels like to live your dream or to help others accomplish their own. If you’re an architect, build your masterpiece and then help others build. If you’re an artist the canvas awaits the fruit of your imagination. Mould something, sculpt something, paint something, and then extend the brush to those around you. If you’re a speaker, take the platform, share your ideas with the world and then listen as the world speaks back.

Listen, listen, and listen some more. It is never selfish to share your gifts. After all, a gift is not a gift unless you’re giving it away. God gave you permission to dream and to live your purpose when He spoke your name, and breathed the gift of life into you. You matter.

Do not be anxious or live in fear of pursuit of your dream, and do not sentence yourself to a lifetime of regret for never having helped another human achieve something they once thought was an impossible task. Anything is possible, and you have the power to prove it, but are you willing?

Why the Law of Attraction Fails or does It?

All readers are leader’s, but I had a heart stopping moment on the first line, do read on.  My additions are of course in another colour to differentiate the message not by me.  Is is worth the read.

To attract wealth you must focus on the money

Law of attraction: Why the law of attraction fails  Wyn Nathan Davis

As a recruiter, everyday, I meet people who are making an effort to change the circumstances of their lives – some will succeed most will not.

The Law of Attraction is the concept that we attract into our lives what we think about most of the time – that thoughts are things and thinking about things (good or bad) will bring those things into our life.

We are all aware that when we decide to buy a new car or a new mobile phone that all of a sudden we see those very same objects everywhere. It seems almost magic that the car we never noticed is all of a sudden on every street. This is, of course, not magic it is simply that our conscious mind filters out 99.9% of all of the events and sensations that enter our brain. Our subconscious mind is aware of about 70,000 events per second, however, our conscious mind is aware of only about 7 events per second. We filter how we see the world and we will see what we expect. After all, there is good, bad, ugly, beautiful, failure and opportunity around us all the time. We will ‘filter’ the world we want to see.

The Law Of Attraction is a process of conducting a ‘mental trick’. If we use mantras, pictures of what we think about, or acting ‘as if’ we already have the things we want that we will change the filter and start to see the things and opportunities that we want. This is a good short-term strategy and does work for many people in changing their lives – at least in an area or two. The problem is that these changes rarely last and rarely affect enough areas of our lives to change our real life experience.

What is missing from the Law Of Attraction?

The problem with The Law Of Attraction is that consciously choosing to think a certain way does not change our subconscious and our subconscious drives most of our actions. Our subconscious mind is not really affected by our conscious thoughts but instead by our deepest values based on our past experiences.

We cannot truly change our thoughts until we truly change the way we think!

For example, for most of us choices like murder, incest, or extreme violence have no part in the way we think. When we hear of extreme acts in the news most of us have no ability to comprehend making such a choice. However, when we think about over-eating, managing money, cheating on our partners most of us can fully understand these desires or even struggle with them on a daily basis.

Until the changes in our lives that we seek – wealth, career performance, and health become the only possible choice – because the alternative seems simply impossible – we will struggle.

When you change your values the entire way you think changes – instantly. When this happens massive change is possible in your life because your world is actually, completely different. Imagine if the choice of over-eating seemed as abhorrent to you as murder? Losing weight would be easy!

To change the way you think you don’t need another book, another seminar or more time. It can happen in an instant simply by changing the way you think by first changing your values.

When a person can choose their thoughts by a process of choosing their values they instantly lose all doubt and fear and become – a mastermind.

More additions:

If you wish for a finer environment, alter your thinking right where you are. If you are working for success look at your life.                                                                     If order is the first law of the universe and it is, then it must also be reflected in physical life. Is your house in organized? Your car? Your office? Your purse or wallet. Ones personal space is a reflection of their mind, As you organise your external world you will begin to notice that you will start attracting more of the results you want Herr is to order in Your life – Mary Morrisey

There is no past or future for the law of attraction, only the present, so stop referring to your life in the past as very difficult, or full of hardship and pain, or in any other negative way. Remember that the law only operates in the present, so when you speak of your past life negatively the law is receiving your words and sending those things back to you NOW. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne
