How to stay Motivated

"Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can’t get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals." Bob Proctor

These Top 10 ways to stay motivated are a must, but can you stick to them?

  1) Plan ahead                                                                                        It stands to reason that you are much more likely to reach your goals if you plan properly.   Preparation is a key to success, so clear your cupboard of tempting treats, re-writing your shopping list, or memorise your activity schedule.  Once you have an agenda, you are much more likely to stick to it.

"Set higher standards for your own performance than anyone around you, and it won’t matter whether you have a tough boss or an easy one. It won’t matter whether the competition is pushing you hard, because you’ll be competing with yourself." Rick Pitino Basketball Coach, Author and Speaker

2)

Track your  progress                                                         Keep an eye on how well you are doing. If you have completed a week of abstinence, for example, your pride in that accomplishment can help keep you going for another week.  everything from checking money saved.by not buying “goodies” or a regular weigh-in if you are trying to lose weight  can give you the motivation to continue.

Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable." Wendy Wasserstein

3)

Find Inspiration                                                                              The internet is full of inspiring  articles written by people either on the same journey as you are, or who have achieved a similar goal, you just need to find them.  seek out online groups that share your goals and keep reading success stories, as they will keep you on track, if they can do it; You Can!

"People who say that life is not worthwhile are really saying that they themselves have no personal goals which are worthwhile… Get yourself a goal worth working for. Better still, get yourself a project… Always have something ahead of you to ‘look forward to’ – work for and hope for." Maxwell Maltz 1899-1975, Physician and Writer

4)Reward   Yourself                                                                              If you are trying to stop smoking, save the money you would have spent on cigarettes and buy yourself a treat at the end of the month.  you will find the money soon adds up.  If you are dieting allow yourself a cheat meal, that way you can give yourself something to look forward to every week and stop yourself feeling deprived.  If you are taking up a new activity or exercise, get the proper kit, if you look the part you will feel the part.

“Rewards are what you deserve for all the things you have done, will do and are grateful for, no matter what, the same can be said for the more you do for others is an even greater reward.”      Gray Lawrence

Life Power Tip  What small step, toward that large goal, can you take today? Ninety per cent of any task is starting it. Ten minutes on a task begun soon turns into two hours on that same task. “The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” –Chinese proverb

From The Secret Daily Teachings                                                                    When you find your purpose, it is like your heart has been set alight with passion. You know it absolutely, without any doubt. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

7) Allow yourself to fail                                                                     To fail is to be human, well do it.  The most important thing to remember if, for example, you succumb to biscuits or have a cheeky glass of wine at dinner, is that tomorrow is a new day.  When you wake up give yourself a pep talk and start again.  You have not failed you have just wobbled!

Failure seems to be nature’s plan for preparing us for great responsibilities.
If everything we attempted in life was achieved with a minimum of effort and came out exactly as planned, how little we would learn — and how boring life would be! And how arrogant we would become if we succeeded at everything we attempted. Failure allows us to develop the essential quality of humility. It is not easy — when you are the person experiencing failure — to accept it philosophically, serene in the knowledge that this is one of life’s great learning experiences. But it is. Nature’s ways are not always easily understood, but they are repetitive and therefore predictable. You can be absolutely certain that when you feel you are being most unfairly tested, you are being prepared for great achievement.  Napoleon Hill

8)  Banish negative thoughts                                                                                   It’s important to believe in yourself if you are trying to break unwanted habits.  You will be surprised how much you can do when you put your mid to it.  think of times you have succeeded in other ways and visualise yourself reaching your goal.  You are stronger than you think.

Negativity
It is essential for you to encourage the positive emotions as dominating forces of your mind, and to discourage — and eliminate — negative emotions. – Napoleon Hill

9) Make lists                                                                                                           Break your goal down into small mile stones and take your eyes of the final prize.  If you are looking to meet new people, make a list of new places to go, and cross them off each week.  Enjoy the journey as much as the achievement.

“A list is only a list until what is written is with a purpose” – Gray Lawrence

10)  Keep it realistic                                                                                             Don’t overwhelm yourself with massive goals. If you are looking for a new partner don’t expect to be married by the end of the year, but focus on increasing your group of friends, you may meet someone special that way.  If you are starting new hobby, remember tat it will take a lot of practice before you are confident enough to really enjoy it. Be kind, don’t expect more of yourself than you would expect of someone you love!

Nothing really worth having is easy to get. The hard-fought battles, the goals won with sacrifice, are the ones that matter." —  Aisha Tyler

Happiness is a state of being, and comes from the inside of you. By the law of attraction you must become on the inside what you want on the outside. Why the Law of Attraction Fails or does It?

All readers are leader’s, but I had a heart stopping moment on the first line, do read on.  My additions are of course in another colour to differentiate the message not by me.  Is is worth the read.

To attract wealth you must focus on the money

Law of attraction: Why the law of attraction fails  Wyn Nathan Davis

As a recruiter, everyday, I meet people who are making an effort to change the circumstances of their lives – some will succeed most will not.

The Law of Attraction is the concept that we attract into our lives what we think about most of the time – that thoughts are things and thinking about things (good or bad) will bring those things into our life.

We are all aware that when we decide to buy a new car or a new mobile phone that all of a sudden we see those very same objects everywhere. It seems almost magic that the car we never noticed is all of a sudden on every street. This is, of course, not magic it is simply that our conscious mind filters out 99.9% of all of the events and sensations that enter our brain. Our subconscious mind is aware of about 70,000 events per second, however, our conscious mind is aware of only about 7 events per second. We filter how we see the world and we will see what we expect. After all, there is good, bad, ugly, beautiful, failure and opportunity around us all the time. We will ‘filter’ the world we want to see.

The Law Of Attraction is a process of conducting a ‘mental trick’. If we use mantras, pictures of what we think about, or acting ‘as if’ we already have the things we want that we will change the filter and start to see the things and opportunities that we want. This is a good short-term strategy and does work for many people in changing their lives – at least in an area or two. The problem is that these changes rarely last and rarely affect enough areas of our lives to change our real life experience.

What is missing from the Law Of Attraction?

The problem with The Law Of Attraction is that consciously choosing to think a certain way does not change our subconscious and our subconscious drives most of our actions. Our subconscious mind is not really affected by our conscious thoughts but instead by our deepest values based on our past experiences.

We cannot truly change our thoughts until we truly change the way we think!

For example, for most of us choices like murder, incest, or extreme violence have no part in the way we think. When we hear of extreme acts in the news most of us have no ability to comprehend making such a choice. However, when we think about over-eating, managing money, cheating on our partners most of us can fully understand these desires or even struggle with them on a daily basis.

Until the changes in our lives that we seek – wealth, career performance, and health become the only possible choice – because the alternative seems simply impossible – we will struggle.

When you change your values the entire way you think changes – instantly. When this happens massive change is possible in your life because your world is actually, completely different. Imagine if the choice of over-eating seemed as abhorrent to you as murder? Losing weight would be easy!

To change the way you think you don’t need another book, another seminar or more time. It can happen in an instant simply by changing the way you think by first changing your values.

When a person can choose their thoughts by a process of choosing their values they instantly lose all doubt and fear and become – a mastermind.

More additions:

If you wish for a finer environment, alter your thinking right where you are. If you are working for success look at your life.                                                                     If order is the first law of the universe and it is, then it must also be reflected in physical life. Is your house in organized? Your car? Your office? Your purse or wallet. Ones personal space is a reflection of their mind, As you organise your external world you will begin to notice that you will start attracting more of the results you want Herr is to order in Your life – Mary Morrisey

There is no past or future for the law of attraction, only the present, so stop referring to your life in the past as very difficult, or full of hardship and pain, or in any other negative way. Remember that the law only operates in the present, so when you speak of your past life negatively the law is receiving your words and sending those things back to you NOW. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

Great achievement is born of a struggle.
Our strength grows out of our weakness, said Ralph Waldo Emerson. “Not until we are pricked and stung and sorely shot at, awakens the indignation which arms itself with secret forces.” Strife and struggle can inspire you to overcome adversity and to propel yourself to real achievement. View every struggle as an opportunity for personal growth. It is the struggle itself, not the result that builds character. If you know you are right, stay the course even though the whole world seems to be against you and everyone you know questions your judgment. When you prevail — and you eventually will if you stick to the job — they will all tell you that they knew all along you could do it.                    – Napoleon Hill

Let Your Genius Work For You!

Ernest OrienteIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

Do you know what genius work is?

As a leader within your company, are you spending today doing genius work… the kind of work that is the most valuable and best use of your time? Genius work can be defined as a peak performance state-of-mind.

This means that when you are immersed in the genius work you most love and you are working on the projects that require your maximum attention, the results will be world-class! Doing genius work also means that you are focusing on the activities and the action steps that will deliver high impact results, on both a professional and personal level.

Defining Genius Work
“If I could only focus on two key areas today, what would the most valuable and best use of my time be?”

This is the easiest and fastest way to define genius work. As a leader in your company, genius work might include an important interview to hire a new Superstar, a presentation to your Board of Directors on your financial performance or meeting with a new strategic alliance partner. Here is the key principle regarding genius work: your genius work can only be done by you.

Defining I Wish Projects
Once you have made a list of the professional activities that you consider genius work, make a list of every activity and/or project you are working on this week and month. Then, split this list into two separate lists… an “I Wish” list and a “Delegation” list.

Your I Wish list is best explained as the activities/projects that require your attention, but could be done by someone else if you spent 30-90 minutes to show this person the necessary steps. For instance, your genius work might include an important final interview for a new Superstar who wants to join your company. The I Wish step would include having first and second interviews done by others within your company and showing your assistant how to do reference checks.

When working with our coaching clients, their I Wish list is always a large and long list. During our weekly coaching calls, we focus on removing every single activity/project on their I Wish list…so they can gain an additional 10-20 hours per week of free time to spend doing the things they most love. Some clients are now taking monthly vacations, some are semi-retired and others are spending more time with their families.

There is always a shortage of people who get the job done on time without excuses or grumbling.
If you really study those who have reached the top of any organization, you will find that they are the people who cheerfully accept challenges, take the initiative, and get the job done. They don’t complain, and they don’t make excuses. Those who never get anywhere in their jobs and careers can’t seem to understand that achievers don’t become achievers after they reach the top. They reached the top because of the way they conducted themselves along the way. You can easily become one of those individuals who regularly advance in the organization — if you are willing to pay the price. Any good manager will tell you that the type of people who are most in demand are those who can think for themselves, who will take the initiative to do the right thing without being told, and who will stick to the job until it is finished. You can be one of those people if you choose to be. Napoleon Hill

Defining Delegation Work
Delegation work is the easiest to explain. These are the activities/projects that can quickly be completed and only require 30-60 seconds of explanation. For example, your assistant can make copies of a presentation you are giving, your sales director can bring the results of his/her results to your next executive meeting, or your secretary can make a call to have your copier repaired. These are all one-step requests and can be easily delegated to those who work on your team.

Ready to live the life you always dreamed about? Let your “Genius” work for you professionally and personally!

From The Secret Daily Teachings

To understand the power and the magic of gratitude, you have to experience it for yourself. So why not begin by deciding to find 100 things a day to be grateful for? If you practice gratitude every day it won’t take long before gratitude is your natural state of being, and when that happens you will have unlocked one of the greatest secrets to life.     May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne
