Is life simple or can you make it so.

"The greatest power we have is the power of choice. It’s an actual fact that if you’ve been moping in unhappiness, you can choose to be joyous instead and, by effort, lift yourself into joy. If you tend to be fearful, you can overcome that misery by choosing to have courage. Even in darkest grief you have a choice – The whole trend and quality of anyone’s life is determined in the long run by the choices that are made." Norman Vincent Peale

Life is a roller coaster with ups and downsWhen we were young life was easier, right? I know sometimes it seems that way. But the truth is life still is easy. It always will be. The only difference is we’re older, and the older we get, the harder we make things for ourselves.

You see, when we were young we saw the world through simple, hopeful eyes. We knew what we wanted and we had no biases or concealed agendas. We liked people who smiled. We avoided people who frowned. We ate when we were hungry, drank when we were thirsty, and slept when we were tired.

As we grew older our minds became gradually disillusioned by negative external influences. At some point we began to hesitate and question our instincts. When a new obstacle or growing pain arose, we stumbled and fell down. This happened several times. Eventually we decided we didn’t want to fall again, but rather than solving the problem that caused us to fall, we avoided it all together.

As a result, we ate comfort food and drank alcohol to numb our wounds and fill our voids. We worked late nights on purpose to avoid unresolved conflicts at home. We started holding grudges, playing mind games, and subtly deceiving others and ourselves to get ahead. And when it didn’t work out, we lived above our means, used lies to cover up lies, and ate and drank some more just to make ourselves feel better again.

Over the course of time, we made our lives harder and harder, and we started losing touch with who we really are and what we really need.

If you’re nodding your head, then you understand the need for Getting Back to Happy.

Because you want to get back to feeling:

Strong people don't put others down they lift them upEffective. Confident. Energetic. Successful. Connected. Clear-headed. Courageous. Attractive. Comfortable in your skin. Free from addictions and habits that hold you back. Free from toxic relationships. Propelled by a sense of purpose. Secure in your zone of inner, creative genius. Driven by your true potential to the point of realizing your dreams. Awakened to the positive changes you’re making in your life and the lives around you on a major scale. Slim, trim, and uninterested in French fries.

Seriously, how many times have you wished these qualities would just wash over you, and that you’d wake up one day as an unstoppable version of YOU?

If you’re like we were, you’ve lost count.

Wandering around aimlessly for years, individually, not knowing what to do, or how to get back on track. We just wanted a program to help us feel alive and powerfully human (without the need for alcohol, pills and junk food), and show how to serve ourselves and the people we love in the biggest and best way possible.

Green globe white mapToday that program exists! So can you promise something?

We know you have a big purpose and lots of potential to bring to the world. Let’s promise: No more wishing. No more reading self-help books and listening to inspiring podcasts and never taking action. No more days, weeks and months flying by while you stay stuck in the same exact uncomfortable place you’ve been for years. This is your time, and “Getting Back to Happy is your turning point.”

What Your Top Priorities Should Be

Connections, Health, Priorities, Simplicity, Wealth

Luke SniewskiIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

SIMPLICITY

Enjoy and embrace simplicity.

No, that doesn’t mean poverty. Nor is that the polar opposite of wealth. Living simply is experiencing and appreciating the small things in life that are taken for granted by those constantly looking outside of themselves for happiness.

Real happiness will never be found in a pill, television, car, or iPod. This materialistic view will result in a never-ending pursuit of “things” that never quite fill the hole trying to be filled. In fact, it only grows with the more “things” you acquire. Instead, the key to happiness is found by satisfying the needs that should be natural and commonplace for all of mankind.

HEALTH

The things that make us human are the very same things that are lacking in the lives of those lost in their world of materialism. The first of these qualities is optimal health. Most of us are born with all the potential in to world to be healthy and happy. Yet in our quest for financial freedom, we get lost in the rat race. We neglect and sacrifice our own health for a few bucks. In the end, we are the ones that suffer with increased medical costs and, worse yet, a decreased quality of life.

There is an old saying that “he who dies with the most toys wins”. That statement could not be farther from the truth. Your health is all you have. Every time you avoid fast foods and choose wholesome natural foods, you are investing in yourself and your future. When you choose to exercise instead of playing video games, you circulate life-providing blood, oxygen, and nutrients throughout your body.

Nothing pays higher dividends than the healthy lifestyles that provide the nourishment you need to function at optimal levels. In order to enjoy the toys you do acquire during this lifetime, make sure you live long enough to truly enjoy them.

RELATIONSHIPS

The need to connect is so obvious when you see the popularity of social networking websites. There is a valuable lesson to be learned here. Help and support your community and they will support you. Living in fear inside four walls and a ceiling, you will miss out on so much growth and support available to you. A stranger is only a friend you’ve yet to meet. When you find your family, friends, and people, live for them.

"Anytime you blame others and complain about your situation, you are choosing to be a victim. By playing the victim role you are putting yourself in an ineffective and weak position. 7 Steps to Be Inspired

Jacqui BlueIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

1) Don’t be afraid to fail. In each of our failures there is a something to gain or learn from. Sometimes the simple lesson is in learning what not to do. What we often perceive as a “failure” is actually just a lesson that life is teaching us. Try a different approach.

2) Don’t be afraid to speak up and use your voice. Too often we hold back from saying what we really want to say or mean to say. Sometimes the biggest regrets we have are the things we never said to someone while they were still around to hear it.

3) It’s okay to feel your feelings. We’ve come to a stage in existence where we’re told that any display of genuine emotion makes us “weak” or “crazy”. The brute mentality of “feelings are lame” seems to have taken over. We must change this. Our feelings are what make us human. We are not robots and we shouldn’t be expected to act as such. If something makes you feel something inside – it’s okay to feel it. It’s okay to express it. Don’t let other people, the media or social media bully you into believing that your feelings are bad, dumb, crazy or wrong. Your feelings are valid and you are entitled to them. However, you are not entitled to act out in harmful ways towards yourself or others due to your feelings. If one is allowed to actually express and feel their feelings, the need for acting out will diminish.

4) Create art, play games, be silly and don’t take yourself too seriously. Learn how to laugh at yourself and realize that it’s okay to be wrong sometimes. You’re just human like everyone else and no one expects you to be perfect. No one really has it all together or figured out. Just when you think you do, life will prove you wrong. Everyone is just another someone making their way through this world.

5) Integrity means to do what’s right even when no one else is around to praise you or commend you for it. Own your words and and actions and take responsibility for what you do and say. Your words and actions will come to define your character.

6) When you love yourself and learn to be happy with who you are and what you have, everything else will fall into place because the Universe is one huge reflective mirror giving back to us what we’re showing of ourselves. It is neither good, nor bad. It just is and it responds in kind as a reflection. This is one of my personal secrets to happiness. I learned how to love and accept myself, flaws and all.

7) Express yourself. Be yourself. Live your life on your own terms. We are all reflections of each other and we are all sparks of the Universe experiencing itself subjectively. We are one. But there is only one version of you. You matter. So, don’t be afraid to take chances, say what you mean, feel your feelings, and live your life on your terms so long as you cause no harm to yourself or others.

"The greatest power we have is the power of choice. It’s an actual fact that if you’ve been moping in unhappiness, you can choose to be joyous instead and, by effort, lift yourself into joy. If you tend to be fearful, you can overcome that misery by choosing to have courage.
