Finding Happiness

image

“We all have the capability to make a difference, to accept what we are given, to love with our heart and live life to the fullest, or not: it’s up to us.” – Tracy Goodwin

If you want to find the key to happiness, success and abundance, you need to start by evaluating your own opinion of yourself. It’s not always easy to appreciate the hard work you put in every day, the difference you make in the lives of others, and the distance you’re willing to go to make your dreams come true. If it were easy, then everyone would do it, but before you even begin to think about things such as success and failure, you need to come to know yourself, and then you need to learn to love yourself.

Wise Words  “Carefully watch your thoughts, for they become your words. Manage and watch your words, for they will become your actions. Consider and judge your actions, for they have become your habits. Acknowledge and watch your habits, for they shall become your values. Understand and embrace your values, for they become your destiny.” -Mahatma Gandhi

Why is it Challenging to Love Ourselves?

It’s not easy, because as the saying goes, “we are all our own worst critics.” That saying, though it may be cliché, is absolutely correct. We find it difficult to love ourselves because we witness every mistake we make, every personality flaw we carry, every selfish tendency we possess, and we also are the one who knows exactly what we are capable of.

Learning to love yourself is not something that happens overnight, it is learned through experience and effort. Too often society teaches us that we need to look outside ourselves to find out who we really are, but I think the exact opposite is true. If you really want to understand more about your purpose in life, you need to turn inward, not outward. Turning outward will cause you to submit to the pressures of the world and be a person that you aren’t meant to be, but reflecting inward will connect you with your true self, and if you follow your instincts you will never be led astray.

"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts." Marcus Aurelius

How to Love Yourself

The more you reflect inward, the more you will learn about yourself, and through that learning you will come to appreciate what you have to offer the world. You will realize that you are stronger, more intelligent, and more talented than you have ever imagined. You will feel moved to share your gifts with the world, and over time that will transform you into an unselfish person who knows what it means to find success.

If the idea of loving yourself wholeheartedly is foreign to you, try taking the following steps and see what kind of difference it makes:

From The Secret Daily Teachings

Never let a day pass without looking for the good, feeling the good within you, praising, appreciating, blessing, and being grateful. Make it your life commitment, and you will stand in utter awe of what happens in your life. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

#1: Forgive Yourself for Past and Future Mistakes

Each one of us will make mistakes every day, so you might as well forgive yourself now and get it over with it. Once you learn to forgive yourself of mistakes and move forward, you will be better in control of your emotional state, which will allow you to continue pushing toward your goals of success when mistakes and failures do come up. And here’s a secret: they will always come up!

It is so important that you are grateful for everything in your life. Many people focus on the one thing they want and then forget to be grateful for all the things they have. Without gratitude you cannot achieve anything through the law of attraction, because if you are not emanating gratitude from your being, then by default you are emanating ungratefulness. Be proactive and use the frequency of your being to receive what you want. May the joy be with you,
Rhonda Byrne

#2: Put Your Own Needs First Every Once in a While

Each one of us has our own personal needs, but usually we get too caught up taking care of the needs of others to make time to take care of ourselves. If you want to build more confidence and have positive feelings toward yourself, you need to ask yourself “Is this what I really want?” before you make any important decisions. Don’t make decisions based on the opinions of others, make decisions that are right for you. Over time you will love yourself more for being willing to trust.

"Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again." Og Mandino

#3: Make Time to do Things you Love!

The most successful people in the world rarely have a difficult time with their work, because they are involved in things they are deeply passionate about. You can take this same attitude with your life. If you aren’t doing things you love on a routine basis, what is the purpose of living? Of course, make sure you have time to attend to all of your responsibilities, but always leave extra time for the things you love most.

You are led through your life time by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is you’re real self. Don’t turn away from possible futures before you are certain you don’t have anything to learn from them. You’re always free to change your mind and chose a different future, or a different past. The book Illusions.

Dear Genius,

How did Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Jesus survive weeks without food?

How did Leonardo da Vinci make advances in anatomy, astronomy, and physics that were centuries ahead of scientific discovery—and still find time to paint the most iconic picture in history?

What did people like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, and Albert Einstein do to help them pioneer remarkable breakthroughs and accomplishments?

They all used unique meditation techniques and mental exercises.

And these days, Oprah Winfrey, Sting, the Dalai Lama, Gwyneth Paltrow, and other accomplished individuals from every background and field of endeavor do it too.

Meditation is the doorway to innovative thinking, knowing, being healthy, finding calm inner strength, and… quite frankly… living happily, productively, and abundantly in this world.

And—contrary to what you may think—you can do it almost anywhere… even when you’re driving!

You’ve probably heard this before…

Every answer you seek is already inside your mind.

If that is true (and, based on the amazing benefits listed above, I believe it is), how do you get to those answers and insights when you need them?

If the genuine solutions and guidance you need are already in your mind, why are they sometimes so darn difficult to find?

On the other hand…

As hard as it can be to access this genuine information, every now and then the knowledge and insights just come to you like magic.

Why doesn’t that happen more often? Or, more importantly, how can you make it happen at your command?

The reason you get stuck has little to do with what’s in your mind.

The problem is with what’s not in your mind.

What your brain does normally

The electrical activity of the brain is measured in terms of “waves.” That means if you hook your head up to a machine that measures the electrical output of your brain, you’ll see it form a wave on the screen.

Your brain produces five basic types of waves. They’re called Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. While this sounds like a college fraternity, it’s really a measure of how fast or slow your brain is working at any given time.

Now here’s where what’s not in your brain comes in…

During most of the day when you’re working, texting, emailing, driving, or doing anything active, your brain waves are primarily in a Beta pattern.

But, if you want to find a creative solution to a problem or receive insights or breakthrough ideas on a challenge you’re facing, your brain needs to slow down to a Theta, Alpha, or Theta-Alpha pattern. These types of patterns occur when you’re drowsy, relaxed, and reflective (but not sleepy), or in a state in which a silent current of thoughts, images, and memories emerge spontaneously in your mind.

The problem is, with updates and news coming at you by the minute, and distractions and temptations just a keystroke away, it can be very difficult to achieve these slower brainwave patterns during the course of a normal day.

The result? You often feel overwhelmed and off-balance.

The doorway to breakthrough thinking

How can you slow down your brain waves even when you’re surrounded by chaos and stimulation?

By doing what Jesus, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, and many other brilliant individuals have done:

Develop your mental focus.

Mental focus enables you to shut out the noise that almost always surrounds you and to get calm in the center of the storm. It is the single best tool you have for releasing the power of your mind and allowing the answers, breakthroughs, and insights you seek to be heard.

The best way to develop laser-sharp focus is to meditate. Meditation—in all its various forms—is supported by decades of scientific research and backed up by centuries of real-life experiences. It is proven to help you let go of all the content that generally occupies your consciousness by slowing down your brain waves. With your mind clear, you can access the knowledge that’s locked inside.

The fastest way to access the miraculous haven
inside your mind

At Nightingale-Conant, it has been our pleasure to work with some of the most incredible minds of our generation. After a while, we started to notice a common thread between many of our most successful authors…

The most successful, happy, and well-balanced people all have the power to focus their minds. By developing a focused mind, these individuals have been able to rise to incredible levels of achievement in just about every field.

But, slowing down your brain waves to have a focused mind can be challenging—even for the experts! That’s especially true with the stresses and constant stimulation of modern life. Now, more than ever, you need to develop ways to gain instant access to the calm, all-knowing haven that’s inside your mind.

And that’s why we’re so excited to introduce a brand-new comprehensive program called Focused Mind, Powerful Mind: Releasing Your Mind’s Greater Powers with Advanced Meditation Techniques.

It’s an advanced mind-training program that combines meditation and mental exercises in a whole new way so you can develop laser-sharp focus like some of the greatest thinkers of all time and perform as never before…

7 Little Ways to Make Your Life Simpler

Anyone can make today more complicated than it has to be, and most people will. It takes a touch of wisdom to do the opposite.

Our days fill up so fast, and are so frenzied and jammed with drama and distractions, they often seem to be bursting at the seams.  And the craziest part of it all is that we get so accustomed to this kind of chaos, we think it’s normal.  We go about each day without ever questioning why we feel so darn stressed out.

Angel and I lived this way for many years, until a time came when we were dealt a series of harsh reality checks that forced us to re-examine everything.  One of the key lessons we learned through this re-examination is that it’s not terribly hard to make our lives a whole lot simpler and happier, one day at a time… one step at a time.

Today, I encourage you to join us on our daily journey of living a simpler, happier life by following the seven steps I’ve outlined below.  Keep in mind, however, that while Angel and I have fully incorporated each of these steps into our daily lives, we did so gradually.  I suggest you choose one right now and begin working on it.  Then revisit this list when you’re ready to take the next step.

  1. Identify what’s most important, and eliminate the rest. – This may sound like a drastic measure to some, but it’s really not.  Today will quickly fill up with time-wasting activities if you aren’t careful.  Thus, you must remember that being productive isn’t just about getting things done – it’s also about leaving things undone.  The simplicity and efficiency of today relies heavily on the elimination of non-essential tasks.  You must identify what’s most important to you, and then eliminate as much as you possibly can of everything else.
  2. DE clutter your physical space. – DE cluttering your physical space not only makes things more organized, but it also leads to a less cluttered mental space.  The visual distractions in your environment pull on you and distract you in more ways than you likely realize.  If you’re holding on to things you don’t need, let go and donate them to someone who does.  Give yourself some extra breathing room.  And remember, it’s not just how many (or how few) things you own that matters – it’s whether you make those things count.  For example, it’s better to have three great books on your bookshelf that you’re actually going to read rather than 300 that only take up space.  (Read The More of Less for DE cluttering strategies that work.  Note: We read an advance copy of this book, and it’s a must-read.)
  3. Schedule at least one distraction-free time block each day. – Distractions are nothing more than complications.  So once you know you’re focusing on what’s important, and your space is relatively clutter-free, eliminating all distractions for a set time while you work is one of the most effective ways to get things done.  Just lock your door, put a sign up, turn off your phone, close your email application, disconnect your internet connection, whatever it takes.  You can’t remain in hiding forever, but you can be twice as peaceful and twice as productive while you are.
  4. Leave space between everything on your to-do list. – It’s tempting to fill in every waking minute of the day with tasks.  Don’t do this to yourself.  Leave space.  The space between the things you do is just as important as the things you do.  Remember, your overarching goal is living a life uncluttered by most of the things people fill their lives with, leaving you with space for what’s truly important.  A life that isn’t constant busyness, rushing and stress, but instead mindful contemplation, creation and connection with people and projects that bring meaning into your life.
  5. Disconnect from the drama. – When your day gets stressful and the people around you aren’t helping, keep in mind that the battle you’re going through is never fuelled by the things other people do; it is fuelled by your mind that gives these things importance.  Even if you have a good reason to be angry and resentful, don’t.  Channel your energy into thoughts and actions that actually benefit your life – build positive daily rituals that build YOU.  And as you move forward positively, remember, there is a huge amount of simplicity and freedom that comes into your life when you take nothing personally.  (Angel and I build positive daily rituals with our students in the “Goals and Growth” module of Getting Back to Happy.)
  6. Let go of life’s uncontrollable outcomes. – When you attempt to control too much, you complicate things, and thus you enjoy too little.  Sometimes you just need to let go, take a deep breath and love what is.  Make mistakes, learn from the realities around you, laugh about it all and then move along.  Waste not a minute on outcomes you can’t control.  This, I’ve learned, is the best way to be in all walks of life… You can stop trying to change people, and just let go and dissolve into their presence – just notice who they truly are, just appreciate every idiosyncratic quirk.  You can stop complaining about your life circumstances, about your losses, about how the world is, and just let go and love what is.  Just be.  Just accept.  Just appreciate.
  7. Reflect on the goodness. – One of the primary reasons we complicate our lives is because we become ungrateful.  We lose our enthusiasm and then we go looking for it in all the wrong places.  We think we need more of everything to find it again, when in fact we need less.  We need less clutter, less distraction, less drama and less busyness, so we can create the space we once had to appreciate what we have.  And what we have is always more than enough.  Reflect on this.  Never let all the things you want make you forget about all the things you have.  Consider how very fortunate you are.  Consider it every day.  (Angel and I discuss this in more detail in the “Simplicity” chapter of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.)

Positive Attitude Magnetic Attraction

There is no doubt that when using the law of attraction for the good of everyone, you are connecting yourself to great power. However, the law is also available to you individually so that you may live your life to the fullest. When you live your life to the fullest you have so much more to give others. Your pain and misery does not help the world. But your joy and your life lived fully uplifts the world. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

You Are a Magnet

Remember a magnet attracts!

Your mind is a powerful magnet that will attract to you the things you identify yourself withThe law of attractions unfailingly giving you every single thing in your life based on what you are giving out. You magnetise and receive the circumstances of wealth, health and relationships, your job and every single event and experience in your life, based on the thoughts and feelings you are giving out. Give out positive thoughts and feelings about money and you magnetise positive circumstances, people and events that cause you to have a lack of money.

“Whether humanity will consciously follow the law of love, I do not know. But that need not disturb me. The law will work just as the law of gravitation works whether we accept it or not” Mahatma Ghandi

As surely as you think and feel, the law of attraction is responding to you. It does not matter whether your thoughts and feelings are good or bad, you are giving them out and they will return to you as automatically and precisely as an echo returns the same works you send out. But this means that you can change your life by changing your thoughts and feelings. Give positive thoughts and feelings and you will change your entire life!

This following passage is from another great person “Napoleon Hill” I thought it would be appropriate and as “an after thought or comment” to pass through your mind, of course in the right direction!!

Be sure about what you want from life and doubly sure of what you have to give in return.
Examine the lives of successful people, and you will find that they have paid a price that is in direct proportion to the amount of success they have earned. Close examination will almost always reveal years of study and preparation before great success is achieved. This principle is consistent in virtually every field of individual achievement — in the arts, medicine, science, or business. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easily. As you consider your own goals, also consider what you are willing to sacrifice for what you expect to receive. You should be prepared to give generously of your time and talents long before expecting a return on your investment. Many “overnight successes” laboured in obscurity for many years before they were finally recognized for their achievements. “Napoleon Hill”

I hope you enjoy what I have to offer and that it will do for you what you wish it to do. Thank you

If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals.” Bob Proctor

Dreamers make Winners

A SKODA  WHY NOT?

I have driven the smallest and fastest from the historical to modern date vehicles; sports cars, including a Rally Car to the luxury, A formula 1 and the modest of vehicles.

The army gave me the opportunity to drive and fly the toughest, most are basic but they saved my life more than once!! From: a 6 wheeled vehicle including the amphibious, a tank, 8 ton trucks and Gazelle Helicopter to being a co pilot in a Harrier Jump Jet!! Now they all serve a purpose to do a specific task and job, but basic in luxury. From all the vehicles I have driven or flown I have been thrilled and excited beyond belief, but when you wish to purchase a vehicle “You” have to decide and finance whatever you can afford and or fancy from the sexiest to the ridiculous; from comfort to just style and no space even for a computer bag!!.

If you Would like a little of everything, no flying of course; This includes very high standards in luxury and gadgets to tantalise anyone, with more than enough options and other gadgets to add, should you desire them.. Then look no further than “SKODA” YES I said “”SKODA”” I have been a customer for a very long time. Last year I had a desire to see more for my money and a better view I wanted space and of course luxury with gadgets. Well Why not! So I upgraded to a “SKODA YETI GREEN LINE” from my local dealership whom I will provide details for below. I will say this they are the best dealers I have come across in a very long time: the even respect you as a person as well as a customer or potential customer, Everyone gets the same treatment!!! From the minute you walk through the door; from the receptionists to the dealers and sales people, even the Management and mechanics say hallo (yes they are all human) the only thing that does not greet you with a smile is the desk! Now when you make a purchase make sure you go for the coffee machine even that has a lot of gadgets…

My Yeti yes it is a car not the “Abominable Snowman”, but I am sure he would have been pleased.. I now have: luxury & comfort , a great view all round, a boot that would satisfy anyone, Gadgets galore and a fantastic stereo/radio system that does everything but make the tea!! The interior is superb finishes are beautiful from the inside to the exterior I cannot get enough of it, and of course it is always cleaned to keep it smiling at the world showing off its prestige and beauty.. daft as it seems I even talk to it (now that even beats my old Saab 900) I have not left the best to the last as it is “all” the best but before you get in, turn on your senses and close your eyes (before you drive off of course) Now you see in your vision the colour you desire from the great colours schemes available, You smell the fabric or even leather, the cleanliness, and honest to god the feel of comfort luxury and safety with the feeling of the best security one can get (unless you buy a tank) are second to none as you think about YOUR new SKODA! NOW you can get in behind the wheel, open your eyes now see all you now own my god the all round vision is, FANTASTIC..Put they key in the ignition gloat at the beauty and unbelievable finish of the interior, as you put your hands around the perfect steering wheel feeling the lightness and power you are about to test. Now the safety and cleverness of Skoda start to kick in – you cannot just turn the key on and go, there is a nice surprise which even benefits the health and safety issues of all animals the planet and us humans, EFFICIENCY & ECONOMY. Well what do you expect from SKODA

I could go on forever but if I did it would stop you visiting and making a purchase of your dreams…Call them visit them asking for my personal sales person without a doubt he was great, this does not take away from the all of the other staff their professionalism excitement and helpfulness as soon as you walk through the door or call!

Remember Every Vehicle made is as perfect as mine!! You will not be disappointed, now the decision & choice is Yours!!
