10 things to do and be effective

An advantage we all have is the ability to control what we do each day. We can improve our productivity, or not! You decide.  In too many cases, we are the only ones who know when we are falling short of our best level of performance. It’s no surprise that many managers have no idea  regarding the difference between mediocrity and excellence.

clip_image001Effective people have the Key to the secret of success, which is to “Take Action”  Like many of the top performers!    You must keep your driving the pace until  you take flight.

Here are 10 things that effective people do

  • Starting early. Sam Walton arrived to work at 3 am. Perhaps a little early for many of us, but we need to get an early start. “The early Bird”
  • Accepting good and bad news as part of moving on!  As you progress up the ladder, you will be in the line of fire, so remember who you pass on the way up!  Because what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.
  • Having a long term perspective. Never thinking about short term gains, thus focusing on building a strong successful foundation success.
  • Avoiding the petty and uninteresting information.  It is counterproductive to spread rumours, be disrespectful or talk bad about colleagues and never criticizing management. Its much better to focus on the task ahead and the results it will bring.
  • Always be professional. Do not lose control. You want others to describe you as a “professional person.” This is the compliment we all strive for thus reaching an important milestone.
  • Focusing on the key areas that bring the results you are aiming for!  At the next meeting, observe and study the leaders of your organization and how they focus on what the important issues are. They have the ability to identify the problems as the professionals they are.
  • Treating others with respect, we are not better, but we have a different look on matters and may have accomplished more in certain areas, we must always appreciate what others bring to the table.
  • Be humble, we do not know everything. We must be open to working in teams.  When we put our minds together, we can tackle enormous projects, which lead to huge benefits for the organization.
  • Confront problems!  Address immediately. Those who are excellent performers are aware of small problems and prevent them from escalating. Taking a proactive approach is preferred.
  • Be committed to sharing the wealth and knowledge. Rewarding those who do well, as we are not solely responsible for the huge accomplishments. Be humble, and praise others publicly and privately when they contribute to our goals and initiatives.
  • Successful people are extraordinary in the sense that they understand the importance of knowledge, commitment, and humility. The process to greatness is well established but realizing it requires significant effort.

What to do when your life is out of control

Life says, “make good or make room, but don’t make excuses.”
In today’s management parlance, “Lead , follow, or get out of the way.” When you are actively working toward a goal, there are no failures; there are only degrees of success. Choose to be a leader. Take the initiative. When you are faced with a problem or a difficult decision, don’t waste endless hours agonizing over the solution. If you analyse the situation objectively, you will always find an answer. Don’t focus on the problem; focus on the solution. Then get into action. As W. Clement Stone has often said, “The emotions are not always subject to reason, but they are always subject to action!” – Napoleon Hill

Life has its pains and evils its bitter disapppointmentsIt’s completely normal to feel out of control when something goes wrong in your life.  In fact, it’s probably safe to say that it’s not normal to feel completely at peace when something unfortunate happens.
But even though it feels like all the hard work you’ve put in, all the sacrifices you’ve made, and all the life you’ve lived has done nothing to prevent you from experiencing tragedy, there is always hope for those who are willing to fight to take control of their lives once again with hope for a better day.

If you’ve been struggling with the difficulties of life, it’s time to open your mind to a few new ideas that will help you take control of your life, fill your life with positive energy, and help you recover from your negative experiences, one day at a time.

Bad things can happen in the blink of an eye or they can occur progressively over a long period of time. One moment you are happily smiling at your fortune and everything good in your life, and the next moment something unexpected happens and you wonder how you are going to pick up the pieces of your life that have been left behind by a devastating series of events.

It’s completely normal to feel out of control when something goes wrong in your life.

1: Make it a Priority to Serve Others

People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but not how you made them feelIt seems like every time something bad happens in my life, everyone tells me to forget about myself and go find someone else that needs my help. When I first began trying this technique, I felt frustrated, sorry for myself, and absolutely no motivation to lift others burdens when my life seemed so horrible. Over time my opinion changed, and now I look forward to helping others whenever I get the chance, especially if I’m in the middle of a rough patch in my life. There is just ,something about helping others that seems to take your problems away. You begin to focus more on loving others, and less on your own misfortunes.

2: Learn What the Universe Has in Store For You

universe hears a higher frequencyWhether we want to admit it or not, there are bigger forces at play in the Universe than just ourselves. Sometimes you may not think experiencing a natural disaster, the death of a loved one, or prolonged unemployment will provide you with any benefit at all, but it’s entirely possible that the Universe is preparing you for something much bigger, a greater life responsibility than even you can comprehend at this point in time. If you think that’s the case, try to find out what that purpose and responsibility is, and seek after it.

3: Enjoy the Adventure of Your Life

Enjoy the journeyDespite what others may believe, there is no reason to fear the future. If you look at life as one big adventure, you’ll realize that life will provide you with twists and turns that you won’t expect—some of them will be happy, and others might be sad, but that’s the best part of living. If you knew everything would always work out the way you want it to, you would get bored of your life. The greatest joy I’ve experienced in life is triumphing when all the odds were stacked against me and I was facing great adversity. It made achieving my dreams and goals all the sweeter, because I alone knew what I had to overcome to get where I wanted to be. The same will be true of you if you enjoy the ride of life, with all of its speed bumps and stop lights.

Live each day as if it was your last, and you’ll develop a keen respect for opportunity.
If you had only one more day on this earth, how much sharper your senses would be. The beauty of nature, the simple pleasures of life, would be indescribably wonderful, and every moment would present an opportunity to spend quality time with your family and strengthen relationships with friends, acquaintances, and business associates. Every thought would be laser-sharp in that highly focused state. Well, today is the last day on earth for today’s opportunities. Don’t let them pass you by.

The Truth about being a Networking Boss

No one is capable of giving direction unless he or she knows how to take directions and carry them out.
An essential quality of leadership is developing the ability to persuade others to align their goals with yours and those of the organization. Until you, yourself, are able to join forces with others in the pursuit of a common objective, you will never persuade them to join your cause. Effective leaders recognize the value of working together, and they learn how to follow directions before being entrusted with the responsibility for the performance of others. Good leaders show by example how they expect others to behave. Even though the troops may be trained to follow orders unquestioningly, the officer always leads them into battle. You cannot push others to follow your example; you must pull them along with you. When you show by your every word and deed that you are a person of character, one who works for the greater good of the entire organization, your people will follow.    Napoleon Hill

You are no one’s Boss and never will be – despite what your title says.

"My new distributor…"    "My team…"    "You’re under me…"
How often do I hear and read these phrases? A lot.  More often than not, they’re used out of naiveté rather than with any intent to make the up line feel superior or the down line feel inferior.  But we’ve got to be constantly aware of what comes out of our mouths.

We’re offering people the chance to break free of the 40-hour (and more!) work week chains of working for someone else, yet using language like this can very quickly make our team members feel like they’ve swapped, or are in the process of swapping, one boss for another.

On that note, we cannot force any of our team members to work harder either – they’re a ‘volunteer army’ and are free to do as little or as much as they want, to fit around their own unique lifestyle, and in line with what THEY want from their business.

The Science of Getting Rich

Remember this, and never take money from anyone without giving more in use value than the money you are receiving. In people’s lives, this is one of the main causes of lack of money, unsuccessful job experiences, and failed businesses. Give more value than the money you are receiving; in your job, in your business, and in every part of your life.              May the joy be with you, The Secret Rhonda Byrne

Now, don’t get me wrong, if someone’s activity is not congruent with the goals they have set themselves, then we need to bring this to their attention and some course-correcting needs doing, but ultimately we have to firstly be GRATEFUL that they’re part of our team, and secondly RESPECT the level they want to work at.

Be the type of person you wan't to meetLeadership in network marketing is a lot more subtle and refinedTeam Work than management is in ‘traditional’ business where the carrot and stick approach can be employed to move people in the direction management wish.  More often than not, it’s the tools we have at our disposal (events and the power of association building belief and enthusiasm which can lead to increased activity) that are far more effective at helping to increase a team members activity level than simply asking or telling them to do it.

A positive mental attitude is an irresistible force that knows no such thing as an immovable body.
Time and again we hear stories about ordinary people who do seemingly impossible things when they find themselves in an emergency situation. They perform herculean feats of strength and endurance, things they never dreamed they were capable of doing. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could harness that strength and make it available anytime you need it? You can — if you believe you can. No doubt you can remember a time in your life when you were exceptionally focused on your objective, a time when you achieved more in less time than ever before. Perhaps it was an impending vacation that motivated you to get everything done before you departed, or perhaps it was a “must pass” exam that helped you focus your concentration. The intensity that you developed in those situations is always available to you when you have a Positive Mental Attitude.   Napoleon Hill

5 Truths For Taking Action In Your Life

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

“Scheming and dreaming will fill your mind; taking action will fill your life.”

As a couple approaching middle age, we’ve had our fair share of successes and setbacks. Throughout them all – marriage, divorce, remarriage, cross-country moves, career ups and downs, and finally traveling the world with just a backpack – we’ve come to 5 consistent truths:

1. Eliminating the negative and focusing on what feeds your spirit every single day will change your life far more dramatically than achieving one big goal.

This is when you’ll have the space, energy and perspective to see opportunities in front of you. In choosing to not engage with the whiners at work, we performed better and made more money. In taking a walk every day, we reduced our stress, helped our hearts, and lost weight. In experiencing more small joys we increased our overall happiness.

2. Possessions limit experiences.

There is a cost to ownership, even if the items came to you for free. When your house is overloaded with stuff, you are less likely to invite friends and family over for dinner. When you stretch your resources – time, money, and attention – to maintain what you own, you have less left over for new experiences and relationships. You can treasure both what you own and the freedom gained from what you don’t own.

3. Good health is worth more than any amount of money or recognition.

It’s easy to overlook this in your 20s and 30s, but it starts catching up in your 40s and beyond. When you fail your body on a daily basis with poor nutrition, no exercise, extreme stress, and lack of sleep, it will eventually fail you. As your mind and soul becomes wiser, it’s a shame to let your body become less able to maximize those gifts.

4. The people yoHands in the sandu surround yourself with determine the direction of your life.

By reaching out to positive, generous, action-oriented people, groups, and organizations, you will greatly increase your own odds of success in your personal and business life. You up your own game when you’re surrounded by people who are playing at a higher level.

5. Doing the work every day is what leads to overnight success.

It isn’t the showy part of your life that matters, the “highlight reel,” so to speak. It is the work you do every day behind the scenes, when no one is looking, that determines your overall success in life. Just showing up when you say you will – to work, to help, to exercise, to learn – builds your credibility over time and eventually gives you the “overnight success” everyone else sees.

When you focus on these 5 truths, your life will take a dramatic upswing no matter what your overall goals. These are the foundational principles to guide you through life so that you enjoy every single moment of it.

Actions, not words, are the greatest means of self- praise.
There are times when you will be asked to put yourself forward, to compete for a position or a contract, and you will have to speak about your accomplishments. Naturally, you will want to put the best foot forward. Be certain, however, that when you do so, you are confident that honest inquiry will support what you say about yourself. If your actions have been wise and responsible, the record will show this. Leaders in any organization are those who say, “Let’s get going. Let’s do something rather than wait around to see what happens.” When your past actions demonstrate that you are a person who accepts responsibility and shows others the way, your career and relationships will benefit you accordingly.- Napoleon Hill
