10 things to do and be effective

An advantage we all have is the ability to control what we do each day. We can improve our productivity, or not! You decide.  In too many cases, we are the only ones who know when we are falling short of our best level of performance. It’s no surprise that many managers have no idea  regarding the difference between mediocrity and excellence.

clip_image001Effective people have the Key to the secret of success, which is to “Take Action”  Like many of the top performers!    You must keep your driving the pace until  you take flight.

Here are 10 things that effective people do

  • clip_image003Starting early. Sam Walton arrived to work at 3 am. Perhaps a little early for many of us, but we need to get an early start. “The early Bird”
  • Accepting good and bad news as part of moving on!  As you progress up the ladder, you will be in the line of fire, so remember who you pass on the way up!  Because what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.
  • Having a long term perspective. Never thinking about short term gains, thus focusing on building a strong successful foundation success.
  • Avoiding the petty and uninteresting information.  It is counterproductive to spread rumours, be disrespectful or talk bad about colleagues and never criticizing management. Its much better to focus on the task ahead and the results it will bring.
  • Always be professional. Do not lose control. You want others to describe you as a “professional person.” This is the compliment we all strive for thus reaching an important milestone.
  • Focusing on the key areas that bring the results you are aiming for!  At the next meeting, observe and study the leaders of your organization and how they focus on what the important issues are. They have the ability to identify the problems as the professionals they are.
  • Treating others with respect, we are not better, but we have a different look on matters and may have accomplished more in certain areas, we must always appreciate what others bring to the table.
  • Be humble, we do not know everything. We must be open to working in teams.  When we put our minds together, we can tackle enormous projects, which lead to huge benefits for the organization.
  • Confront problems!  Address immediately. Those who are excellent performers are aware of small problems and prevent them from escalating. Taking a proactive approach is preferred.
  • Be committed to sharing the wealth and knowledge. Rewarding those who do well, as we are not solely responsible for the huge accomplishments. Be humble, and praise others publicly and privately when they contribute to our goals and initiatives.
  • Successful people are extraordinary in the sense that they understand the importance of knowledge, commitment, and humility. The process to greatness is well established but realizing it requires significant effort.

Giving is Equal to Receiving

Giving opens up the door to receiving. You have so many opportunities to give every day.

Give kind words. Give a smile. Give appreciation and love. Give compliments. You can give courtesy to other motorists while you are driving. You can give a smile to the car parking attendant. You can give a warm greeting to the newspaper stand person or the person who makes your coffee. You can give by allowing a stranger to go ahead of you into an elevator, and you can give by asking which floor they are going to and pressing the button for them. If someone drops something you can give a helping hand and pick it up for them. You can give warm embraces to those you love. And you can give appreciation and encouragement to everyone. There are so many opportunities for you to give and thereby open the door to receiving.  May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

“To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” Isaac Newton Mathematician and Physicist

I don’t care who you are or where you come from we are all the same: we think we breath we smile we can be sad we can be happy, the list is endless and colour does not come into it!!! BUT we are the same!! So tell me why we are so different? why do we not all get along are we not in the perfect world? DO we not make the world we live in the way it is??
I have written my comments I hope you enjoy the information as before gathered from the famous and wise.
Every action of giving creates an opposite action of receiving and what you receive is always equal to what you have given. Whatever you give out in life, must return to you (this makes you think of what I have written above as quite sensible) it is the physics and mathematics of the universe.

Give the world the best you have and it will come backGive positivity, you will receive back positivity; give negativity you receive back negativity. Give positivity and you receive back a life full of positive things. Give negativity and you will receive back a life filled with negative things. And how do you give positivity or negativity? Through your thoughts and your feelings!
In any moment, you are giving either positive thoughts or negative thoughts. You are giving either positive feelings or negative feelings. And whether they are positive or negative will determine what you receive back in your life. All the people, circumstances, and events that make up every moment of your life are being attracted back to you through the thoughts and feelings you are giving out. Life does not just happen to you; you receive everything in your life based on what you have given.

“Give, and it will be given to you..for by your standards of measure it will be measured to you in return” Jesus (circa 5 BC- circa AD 30)
What you give- you receive. Give help and support to a friend when he is moving house, and most surely that help and support will return to you with lightening speed. Give anger to a family member who let you down, and that anger will also return to you, clothed in the circumstances of your life.

Life always offer you a secoind chance it is called tomorrowYou are creating your life with your thoughts and your feelings. What ever you think and feel creates everything that happens to you and everything you experience in your life. If you think and feel, “I’ve got a difficult and stressful day today,” then you will attract back to all your people, circumstances and events that will make your day difficult and stressful.
If you think and feel “Life is really good to me” you will attract back to you all the people, circumstances and events that will make life really good for you
Perseverance is not a long race: it is many short races, one after another. — Walter Elliot
Do you now feel any different? give it some thought and change your way of thinking and your life!!!

By Clara Freeman

Clara FreemanView your life experiences as a stepping stone to becoming a better you. Use your gifts to help another person and be the voice for the voiceless. Walk in faith, humility, reverence and obedience to a higher power and the ‘otherness’ that fuels your spiritual awakenings and guide your steps through troubles, setbacks and struggle.

Be willing to forgive and ask forgiveness for yourself when you’ve been assaulted by lies and slandered with untruths. Be strong in your resolve to become the bigger and better person than the person with unkind intent. Pray for forgiveness for your own ‘ugly’ ways and make a life change.

Recognize that life is a journey and you have to be a willing participant in order to grow and become the person you’ve always wanted to know

Don’t be defeated by defeat. Use scripture to guide you in your decision making and walk in truth, humility and gratitude. Know that you are only human with human frailties and don’t wallow in self pity and regret for past mistakes. Pray to a higher power and let it go. Share your triumphs over adversity with an audience of people whose commonalities you share. Use your voice to uplift and empower the voice of others.

Don’t live a fake life in pretence of being somebody you’re not. Walk in your own truths. Make your own decisions and know that with every choice, comes a consequence- make wise choices.

Use your words to uplift and inspire and not to humiliate and wound. Words are like bullets that can lead to destruction of a human spirit and end a life. Be kind, humbled and assertive and not aggressive, abrasive and ugly.

Surround yourself with positive people and live your life on purpose. Walk your own path and be yourself. Nobody can know you better than you know yourself, so don’t be fearful of living your truths. Sow seeds of gratitude and give back to those in need and understand the significance. The seeds you sow don’t always come in currency. Offer to babysit for a neighbour while they run errands or grocery shop. Invite a friend out to lunch or pick up the phone to call someone- just because.

Be kind to others and you will be rewarded by the universe. Lend a helping hand whenever and wherever the opportunity arises. Make someone else heart happy and you will experience overwhelming joy in your own heart. Respect the wisdom of the elders and pay homage to their vast knowledge of life. They have lived and learned valuable lessons from the journey of life on which you only just begun.

Remember the courage of your ancestors and all they endured through the generations. Be the person who walks in humility and grace. Live authentically, spiritually and purposely. Do the work needed to Know your ‘truth’ self. Live your life with confidence. Don’t give up on your dreams. Expect good for your life and seek a heart “centred” life. Be brave.

The Key Life Lessons I’ve Learned From Roses

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

699My chief hobby is growing roses, a tradition handed down from my grandmother through my mom and now to me. But more than a connection to my family or a source of peace and therapy, such an undertaking has afforded me many life lessons, serving as a highly effective metaphor.

The essential ingredients to growing great roses are the correct soil mixture and proper preparation of the bed in which the rose shall be planted. The right mix of nutrients, the right drainage and retention of water, the right depth of the roots, and the right amount of mulch are all critical aspects. Miss these details, and the roses will fail to thrive, and may even die, regardless of effort or expense.

Likewise, if I do not have the proper “soil and preparation” for my life/soul, then it suffers greatly. I know from personal experience. I nearly died from lack of spiritual principles in my life. But since embracing honesty, acceptance, hope, faith, courage, integrity, willingness, humility, love, discipline, perseverance, prayer/meditation, and service to others, my life has thrived, even in the face of severe adversity.

Roses require regular spraying and fertilizing to stay healthy. Otherwise diseases and insects can decimate them quickly. In a similar fashion, I must stay in close contact with people who can hold me accountable, read Scripture daily, meditate daily, and be of service to others regularly. The days when I do not involve these disciplines in my life to my best ability tend to be rough regardless of circumstances. However, those days that I do leverage these simple yet powerful actions are filled with peace and strength, despite any challenges that might come my way.

Roses are flowers of incredible beauty, delighting the senses in so many waysDo not lose hope when it gets dark the stars will be out. But despite their beauty, they can be very painful to harvest. But enduring the pain of thorns is worth it to add the beautiful roses they guard to a bouquet. This fact helps me to remember that even the best aspects and events of my life will have some pain associated with them. However, if I focus on the beauty (best done by making a “gratitude list”) of life, the painful parts are much more bearable.

Pruning is also a highly important task to allow roses to thrive. It enhances the quality and quantity of roses the bush will produces, and contributes greatly to the long term health of the plant. The process can appear rather gruesome to the casual observer, however. It entails cutting back most of the growth of the previous year, and the complete removal of some of the canes. The plant can appear dead to the untrained eye. This is perhaps the most poignant lesson I have learned. There will be seasons of “pruning” in my life that will make way for new vibrant growth. I must embrace those times, and allow God’s glory to shine through me in new ways.

Do you know that you are continually acting according to the images you form? Just what we think, we will manifest in the external world.

If I could share 500 words of wisdom to summarize what I’ve learned so far in life, these are the important things I’d want to pass along to others…

For that time in your life when you just can’t seem to get a break—perhaps you’ve gotten stuck or have been struggling with issues around money, career, relationship, or health—and spiritual circles are telling you to think positive and raise your vibrations OR ELSE…

I want to give you another, more holistic path to transformation: Alchemy.

Alchemy is the transmutation of leaden human experience into spiritual gold. Even the worst stuff is USEFUL.

In fact that thing that has hurt the most, that area of shame and fear and disappointment and despair… is your Key to the Kingdom. And even better… the deeper the pain has been, the bigger the pay off on the other side.

Now please don’t get me wrong: I’m not encouraging anyone to go out and SEEK suffering. In fact, I think suffering is grossly overrated in Western culture.

But the inevitable losses and hurts of being a human being give us access to the humility and empathy we need to be fully human and able to connect with others and be of service.

And that’s the Holy Grail.

One of my favourite things about Alchemy is it can be instantaneous. Inner change can happen in the blink of an eye. And physical changes follow shortly thereafter.

I’d like to share a few tips to help you create gold.

If you’re doing everything you can and you’re still not seeing the results you desire, it’s not an accident.

If I’ve learned anything over the last decade of coaching thousands of people, it’s that we unconsciously protect ourselves from what we think we want. We have VERY GOOD REASONS to repel love, money, and success. In fact you’re a GENIUS to protect yourself so effectively from danger.

When you uncover the root cause of the issue (and it’s almost never what you’d expect), you can then make decisions that will allow you to receive the love/money/success/vitality you desire WITHOUT putting the safety brakes on.

So dive in! Get curious about the benefits of your worst situation, so you can get those benefits in a better way.

If everybody else’s system is failing you, you may be on to something new.

This is actually very exciting. If outside answers aren’t working for you, you may be brewing something original on the inside.

In fact I’d call your failure and struggle "research and development" into a specific aspect of the human condition. You’re becoming a world-class expert on a certain area of life… and like any birth, it takes as long as it takes.

And when your time comes, and your solution wakes up inside of you, you change the world. You evolve us all.

It’s all connected.

The sweetest bonus is the interconnected, holographic nature of existence. Nothing is separate. Solving just one thing changes everything.

Growth radiates into all areas of your life. YOU are changed, and your world changes around you. Everything you dreamed of becomes available to you.

Vision is nothing more than an image that you have painted on the walls of your mind. He question is who painted it??
