Five top tips to starting a successful business

The fastest way to receive is to give, because giving starts the reciprocal action of receiving. We all receive according to how much we give. Give the best of you everywhere you go. Give a smile. Give thanks. Give kindness. Give love. Your giving should be a giving without expectation of return – a giving for the sheer joy of it. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne The Secret… bringing joy to billions

This message is from one of the greats in the world of successful business people Sir Richard Branson

As LinkedIn is a business that started in a living room, much like Virgin began in a basement, I thought my first blog on the site should be about how to simply start a successful business. Here are five top tips I’ve picked up over the years.

1. Listen more than you talk

Busy-more-than-one-phone_thumb3We have two ears and one mouth, using them in proportion is not a bad idea! To be a good leader you have to be a great listener. Brilliant ideas can spring from the most unlikely places, so you should always keep your ears open for some shrewd advice. This can mean following online comments as closely as board meeting notes, or asking the frontline staff for their opinions as often as the CEOs. Get out there, listen to people, draw people out and learn from them.

2. Keep it simple

You have to do something radically different to stand out in business. But nobody ever said different has to be complex. There are thousands of simple business solutions to problems out there, just waiting to be solved by the next big thing in business. Maintain a focus upon innovation, but don’t try to reinvent the wheel. A simple change for the better is far more effective than five complicated changes for the worse.

3. Take pride in your work

Believe-with-all-of-your-heart-that-[2]Last week I enjoyed my favourite night of the year, the Virgin Stars of the Year Awards, where we celebrated some of those people who have gone the extra mile for us around the Virgin world. With so many different companies, nationalities and personalities represented under one roof, it was interesting to see what qualities they all have in common. One was pride in their work, and in the company they represent. Remember your staff are your biggest brand advocates, and focusing on helping them take pride will shine through in how they treat your customers.

4. Have fun, success will follow

If you aren’t having fun, you are doing it wrong. If you feel like getting up in the morning to work on your business is a chore, then it’s time to try something else. If you are having a good time, there is a far greater chance a positive, innovative atmosphere will be nurtured and your business will flourish. A smile and a joke can go a long way, so be quick to see the lighter side of life.

5. Rip it up and start again

If you are an entrepreneur and your first venture isn’t a success, welcome to the club! Every successful businessperson has experienced a few failures along the way – the important thing is how you learn from them. Don’t allow yourself to get disheartened by a setback or two, instead dust yourself off and work out what went wrong. Then you can find the positives, analyse where you can improve, rip it up and start again.

Be a successful Business person it is what you deserve, Networking or another type of business, all is available to those who work at their ideas..

A burning desire to be and to do is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off.
Many years ago, the commencement speaker at a prestigious university asked all members of the graduating class who had a definite plan for their lives to hold up their hands. As he looked around the room, only three hands were raised. Twenty-five years later, when the class held a reunion, the combined net worth of those three individuals exceeded that of the remainder of the class. People who know where they are going, always achieve far greater levels of success than those who merely drift through life, expecting circumstances to create opportunities for them. Successful people create their own opportunities by focusing on goals with an intensity that borders on obsession. In this way, every action moves them toward their goal. Napoleon Hill

Choosing the Right Network Marketing Business FOR YOU!!

The networked revolution is creating huge profits, significant opportunities, and a lot of change. What it’s not doing is providing millions of brain-dead, corner office; follow the manual middle class jobs. And it’s not going to.

Dreamers aren’t busy applying for jobs at minimum wage, they don’t eagerly buy the latest fashions, and they’re a pain in the ass to keep happy.

Dreams fade away because we can’t tolerate the short term pain necessary to get to our long term goal.

When trying to select which network marketing company to join, you should not just look at what they sell nor should you just look at what they pay. What you should look at is… the Package!

After all, their products / services may be the best of their kind in the whole world but if:

§ the commission is lousy, or

§ there is no demand for their products, or

§ the management screw everything up, or

§ your up line are not interested in you

…you will not see the company around for long!

When I look at companies, I always use the following seven criteria to determine the worth of the Package:

1. Trading In A Huge And Expanding Market

The network marketing company must be trading in a HUGE and EXPANDING market if it is to give itself every chance for success. As an example, music is a huge market but with the advent of CDs and DVDs would you now want to be setting up a new music business based on vinyl records? Of course not … it’s a huge but shrinking, not an expanding, market! On the other hand the anti aging skin care and nutritional supplements markets are huge and expanding ones as the baby boomers want to look, feel and stay younger.

2. Products / Services

I personally prefer to deal with Helping people to save money rather than consumable products. Consumable products are bought, used and then replaced on a regular basis … normally monthly. If you are going to deal with a consumable product, always check the potential for repeat orders from your customers. this can be hard work although rewarding “IF” people keep buying.

If the products are not consumable, make sure that there is a way to receive further income than for just a one-off sale – otherwise it is more a form of Direct Selling rather than network marketing.  Direct selling is something we all know about and feels more like pressure selling, but “SAVING MONEY is not, we all like to save money for those things we could not otherwise afford,. Income potential from any network marketing  (email for the book from the form to: business (MLM) is valued to your business strategy and effort & determination.

Look at what the company is offering or selling and ask yourself, “could I be proud to build an empire with these products / services?”

If not, keep looking!

3. Fair Pay Plan

Now, do not expect to FULLY understand all aspects of any network marketing company’s pay plan the first time you are shown it – some (most actually!) are complicated and need time to absorb. Having said that, DO expect to be able to understand it after a little while.

There is really only one thing you need to know about the company pay plan and that is – does it work?

Does it give you a fair return for the effort you are going to put in? Is there any proof of substantial incomes being made by distributors who have been working the business for two or three years?

4. Experienced Management

If you are going to invest your future with a network marketing company, it is only prudent to make sure that they are `healthy’ and under control of an experienced and capable team. Do as many checks as you can on the company and even ask the company if they will make information available to you. They will probably say, `No’ but if you do not ask… you do not get!

If the company you are looking at has been around for more than 10 years, and is continuing to grow, it would appear that the management is capable of successfully running a business.  my own personal MLM is growing daily and has been for over 2o years AND it is a UK business!

If you are looking at a newer company, you will definitely want to research the experience and successes of the management team. Just because a person was a great network marketer, does not mean that he or she will be a great businessperson – failures by such people in this industry have proven this point.

In fact, most owners of successful network marketing businesses have never been network marketers themselves. They are entrepreneurial business people who saw a need in the market and the power of network marketing and had the confidence to put their money where their mouth is and use their skills to build their businesses.

5. Support Team

A well-used acronym in Network Marketing is T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More. It is very suitable for our industry because the people in your Up line Support Team truly have a vested interest in your success.

Your Sponsor may be new to this business, too, so ask him or her to introduce you to, or 3-way you into, members of your Up line Support Team. Ask questions:

§ How successful are they

§ How long have they been with this company

§ Did they have previous experience

§ Did they bring in people from their last company

§ What support will they be giving you

Here is a good place to remind you that the ONLY way to be successful in this business is to help others become successful. Your Up line Support Team has a very strong vested interest in your success.

6. Training

There must be a commitment to training, support and communication. Find out how the company puts this commitment into practice?

When and how will you receive training, and how much will it cost you – if anything.

Many leaders (like myself) have their own separate distributor training systems in place and if there is one in place for your team, find out how much it will cost.

7. You MUST Be Passionate About The Package

As I have already said, it is the package that you must look at not just the individual components.

Once you have reviewed the company package, you must decide whether it is the right one for you. You must feel comfortable with it as it is going to be the vehicle that will carry you forward to your goals.

One thing to remember is that no company will be absolutely perfect and never have problems – ALL companies have problems, as do those in all other industries. I like this titbit from Tom Schreiter (Big Al)

“Amateurs look for the perfect business with the perfect product, with the perfect timing, with the perfect price, with the perfect management, with the perfect plan, with the perfect support team…

Well, you get the picture. These people are always frustrated and switching companies, looking for a business without problems.

News flash: All businesses have problems.

Professionals know all businesses have problems. They simply choose the business they wish to have their problems with.”

You cannot at this moment fully understand the business – it takes years to gain knowledge and experience. What you can understand is the way you feel about it. Does it feel right? Do you believe that all of the criteria are in place for you?

The most important question is, “Do you really feel that over the course of time you could become passionate and excited about the package?”

If “Yes” – great, you have found the company for you.

If, “No” – keep looking because without passion and excitement you will not succeed.

After all, if YOU cannot feel passionate and excited about the company, why would you expect others to feel any different?

The decision is yours!!

The method by which DESIRE for riches can be transmuted into its financial
equivalent, consists of six definite, practical steps,

First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount. (There is  a psychological reason for definiteness) .                                                                  Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you  desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.)
Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.
Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.
Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ—SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY..

The Greatest leaders of the world were men and women of quick decision -Napoleon Hill

Why Join My MLM Opportunity? when there are many to chose from..

People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often. – Napoleon Hill

Don’t be afraid to aim high when choosing your life’s goal, for no matter how high you aim, your achievements may fall below it.
Many businesses today advocate “continuous improvement” as part of their quality programs. They have realized that to remain competitive in today’s global economy they must constantly strive to improve every aspect of the business, otherwise they will be overtaken by the competition. The same ethic applies to individuals. All of life is a continuous learning experience. Every success and every temporary setback only serve to prepare you for the time when you will eventually prevail. Your short- and medium-term goals should be realistic and achievable, but your long-term goals should always far exceed your present capabilities. As the Roman poet Virgil said, “Fortune sides with him who dares.” – Napoleon Hill

"There are millions of people who believe themselves “doomed” to poverty and failure, because of some strange force over which they believe they have no control. They are the creators of their own “misfortunes,” because of this negative belief, which is picked up by the subconscious mind, and translated into its physical equivalent."
Those words were written by Napoleon Hill almost 75 years go from his still very popular book “Think and Grow Rich”, it is a master mind full of creating lasting success in our own eyes.
So what does this have to with starting a successful MLM business, you ask? A full answer would take days if not longer with all of the financial grief and layoffs surrounding us everywhere. There is only one way you will achieve financial success that levels the playing field for you and me and that is building your own MLM business.
But would you try to start a new company in a foreign business without getting the skills you need to stay afloat? If you don’t obtain the rights skills (not just any sales techniques but team building skills) we both know that would be financial suicide – not a very pleasant picture for you and your family. Many sales people will try to convince you they have the right stuff for you to succeed but peak behind the curtain and take a real look after you gain some insights into things like the importance of understanding pay plans, what is really in the company multi-page book they call policy and procedure, who are the corporate leaders and how are they providing for the beginner… The list goes on and on.
It might seem like a daunting task to find the right MLM career but not it if you look first, ask questions second, and study the opportunity on your own third.
Not long ago I was possibly in your shoes wanting to build a business from home and first worked at it part time like many people, do wasting money on such things as buying leads, fancy marketing materials, buying a bazillion rah, rah CD’s and books. Thankfully that stopped the minute I found this great free eBook, “A Guide to Network Marketing” it quickly opened my eyes to some misconceptions I had and helped me save a fortune in foolish expenses while building my MLM business from home.
Now I spend most of my time sharing this great eBook and hopefully you found me before you visited the financial drainage ditch of the wrong approach in your MLM business. That is my offer for you today, a free eBook that will save you years of failure and frustration as you build your home based MLM business

3 Steps For Fearlessly Following Your Dreams

Michelle Vandepas

Following your passions, listening to your heart and soul’s purpose, and even throwing caution to the wind when following a whim can be great for spontaneous, inspired living. Too often, however, people take huge risks in the name of following their heart’s desire, without realistically addressing the risks and fears. In the pursuit of following our desires, we lose all semblances of common sense and just hope and dream that everything will work out.

Fear can often be our friend. It can be a useful tool to help us discern when we are unprepared – perhaps putting ourselves in financial or emotional danger. Fear can also run rampant, totally out of control without context if we don’t address it head on, and confront what we are really scared of.

Tapping into creativity and following one’s gut is paramount in building a successful business, but you’d better have a plan too. If you don’t, fear can come up and paralyze you, and rightly so. In business, fear is often an indicator that you are off track, that the extra expense wasn’t planned for, or that a customer isn’t going to pay.

I want to share a practical way to address your fears and the risks of following your dreams.

  1. When working on a new project, list all of your fears.
  2. Discern which ones are ‘real’. For example, maybe you think I won’t have enough money. Or No one will like what I have to offer.
  3. Address each fear with a plan of action. Maybe you save for three extra months or cut costs before venturing out. Or, perhaps you do a bit of test marketing to discover what your clients really want.

If you discover the fear is totally unfounded and it is a subconscious or pattern in your life, then you can find a way to ease your fears and start taking small daily steps to build up your confidence and calm the fears.

Perhaps you have a fear of starting your own business. That might be a a realistic fear with lots of real dangers – but if you’ve got strengths, talents, clients and expertise in your field, then you’ll have confidence to build from. (No clients yet? Go get just one. Nothing calms entrepreneurial fears like a paying client!)

It is amazing how a plan helps turn fear into butterflies – life plans built from excitement rather than from unnecessary worries.

When fear comes up to bite you in the face, don’t just turn your back on it, or just plough through and ‘do it anyway’. Take a step back for just a day or a moment, and determine what that fear, if anything, is trying to tell you. Then, when you’ve addressed the fear with a plan, you’ll discover it magically disappears. I call this following your heart, and using your brain!

Natural Selling The Final Lesson, Seven The Conclusion

Your life is a learning process – you can only become wiser from learning. Sometimes you might have to attract making a painful mistake to learn something important, but after the mistake you have far greater wisdom. Wisdom cannot be bought with money – it can only be acquired through living life. With wisdom comes: strength, courage, knowing, and an ever-increasing peace. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne

You Can Now Make Objections and Rejection a Thing of the Past!

Summary and Recap what has been covered.

We’ve seen why conventional sales techniques of telling your story, talking about your solutions or presenting to soon, handling objections and "closing" can cause objections and rejection.

The key to success is keeping company whith people who uplift youIn contrast, the Natural Selling Approach is all about coming from an inner place of stillness, calm and understanding, using your Personal Agenda to guide you and not manipulate you using dialogue. You do this by focusing on your Purpose of merely discovering whether there is a problem that you might have an answer for.

In doing so you allow the other person to motivate themselves to look at your solution if it’s appropriate, by listening to them and letting them listen to themselves as they internally think about and process what they are saying.

The four principles of The Natural Selling Approach are:

1. The Purpose of a Business is Helping Other People Solve Their Problems.

2. Asking the Right Types of Questions at the Right Time

3. Listening to What is Being Meant, Not Just What Is Being Said

4. Feeding Back What You Think You Heard.

The Natural Selling Approach is one of a Problem Solving Exercise not a Persuasion Exercise. You use the Magic and Power of Dialogue to help people discover for themselves whether they have any problems you can help them solve.

By knowing what types of questions to ask, how to listen and how to feedback you remove your anxiety by taking the focus off you and putting it where it matters – on other people.

Graph 2 men salesWhen you align yourself with these principles and consistently use the Natural Selling Approach in your professional and personal life, you will discover you will have the capacity to help more people in less time and with less effort to inspire themselves to change and be interested in listening to what you have to say and taking a closer look at your solutions.

Point to Remember: If there isn’t a problem to be solved, will you have lost a sale? Of course not! There was never a sale to be made in the first place.

If there isn’t a sale to be made you can either change the conversation or graciously bow out so you can quickly move on to other opportunities without feeling rejected.

If there is a problem to be solved however, you’ll uncover it and know precisely how to customize your solution in a way that makes perfect sense to people.

What’s more, you’ll completely eliminate your fear and anxiety when talking with people about your products and business. Why?

It’s because you now have a different initial focus. You are no longer using or thinking about having to use conventional selling techniques, tricks or mind games.

The big question is, are you really "selling" (in the conventional sense) when using The 4 Principles of The Natural Selling Approach? No you’re not! All you’re doing is helping people discover for themselves whether they want to replace what they have with what they want. Most importantly you’re also discovering their level of desire to do so.

You don’t have to use techniques when you know how to help people inspire and decide for themselves to change!

Another point. Have you ever thought of yourself as a feature of your products, Income Opportunity or company? Of course you are!

In fact, you’re the ONLY unique feature!

If people buy you because you appear to understand them and what they are about, what do you think that does to the value of you and everything you represent? Including your solutions? It soars!

Asking the right types of questions at the right time, and listening with the intent to hear, understand, and solve other people’s problems creates tremendous value in you and what you represent.

When you do this, people can’t help but be attracted to you and want to listen how you might be able to help them with your solutions! They can’t help it because everyone (including you) is attracted to people who really understand them. What’s more, they will be much more likely to do business with you!

The Next Step

helping handAt this point, have you discovered if The Natural Selling Approach resonates with your inner truth? Is it in alignment with your core values about respecting and serving others and/or about the way you want to be treated by others? Have The 4 Principles of the Natural Selling Approach caused you to reaffirm, reconsider or change what you thought selling and your business is all about?

If it has, ask yourself these questions…

* What if I could make this work for myself and be able to talk

with anyone, anywhere, anytime about my business?

* What if I could eliminate my fear and anxiety about talking with people?

* What if I could totally eliminate rejection and objections,

not by using techniques, mind games and mental tricks, but by talking with people in a different way?

* What if I could be successful early and significantly increase my success rate?

* What if I could create meaningful and long-lasting relationships with new people?

* What if I could strengthen my existing relationships?

* If I could do all of this, what difference would it make in

Your mental attitude is the most dependable key to your personality.
Your view of yourself will greatly influence how others perceive you. If you are a confident, cheerful, positive person, your co-workers, friends, and family will be attracted to your personality. If you are unhappy, negative, and always complaining about your situation, others will be repelled. Even when at times you don’t feel very happy, by forcing yourself to behave in a positive fashion, you will find that you soon feel genuinely upbeat, because your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between an artificial emotion and the real thing. When you behave positively, you will positively influence everyone around you — including yourself. – Napoleon Hill

my professional and personal life?

Well, you can do this… ALL of it. And, you can do in your own style and with your own personality… not someone else’s, but your own!

So if you want a blueprint of how to make this work and for anyone else you bring into your team, of if your present blueprint isn’t working for you, now you have the opportunity to change it.

You’re invited to take the next step to achieve what you want.

Obviously, you are participating in this course for your reasons.

If one of those reasons is because you are not getting the results you want, here are a couple of questions you might want to ask yourself:

1. Are my present feelings about my current situation uncomfortable enough that I’m sufficiently motivated to do something different than what I’ve been doing?

2. Does Natural Selling offer a solution to my specific problem that makes perfect sense to me?

If you answered, "No", that’s perfectly okay. However, if you realize that the blueprint for your business simply isn’t working for you and you want to exchange it for something that does, I invite you to take the next step to achieve what you want in your business and life.

After all, will anything in your life and the lives of others change if you don’t? Highly unlikely, and definitely not until you take appropriate action that makes sense to you. Whatever action you decide is best for you – DO IT NOW!
