Personal Development: WHY?

From The Secret Daily Teachings

No person or power in the outside world can compare to the power you have within you. Seek the power within, as it knows the perfect way for you. May the joy be with you. Rhonda Byrne

Personal development is sometimes referred to as self-development or personal growth, and it traditionally covers a broad set of areas to improve. It is not however something that you gain from formal education, though the process of gathering knowledge is fundamental to growth. Personal development is a path that you take to better your family situation, career, spirituality, emotional health, and every other aspect of your life. It is the investment into improving yourself. Essentially, It is about making conscious decisions about everything that you do, the way that you think, and the way that you react to situations. For some, It is also a matter of moving beyond past failures and misfortune to see what is possible in the future.

Development process

Personal development can help you obtain everything that you always dreamed of, and more, with the simple application of a few simple mind-sets and tools. Our awareness is a direct result from our development. And personally, the need for further growth and development is paramount for your health physically, mentally and emotionally through to all your relationships. For those who need additional help moving past obstacles and making those changes, a counsellor or personal development coach can also be of great worth. One of the most important steps toward development is to set obtainable goals.

Setting Goals

Finding resources to make changes move past obstacles, set goals, and find happiness is not always easy. Search for quotes stories, tips and ideas to fuel your goals. The key is to consciously act toward goals that will cause you to grow. You must then determine which values, goals and principles you will set up to guide your actions. For me I choose to remove all the bad programming that has been installed on my "hard drive" (if you will) and install more productive and positive programming to help me move closer to my goals in life. You can also learn how to set and implement realistic goals, develop an increased level of self-esteem and self-confidence.

Keys to Growth

I’ve found out more about myself by committing myself to personal growth, rather than trying to find myself first and then start developing. I also found that my personal growth plan is a useful tool that keeps me focused. Develop your personal growth plan, make it a visual poster and hang it up where you can see it daily. Success in an undertaking leads one to gaining more pursuit and a much greater yearning to learn, resulting in growth of motivation directing towards the goal that you have set.

Self Development is a journey not a destination.

"I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness". Personal development is not about reaching a state of perfection; it’s about enjoying the process. It is about living your life while making conscious decisions on a daily basis about everything you do. Make no mistake about it; personal development is a lifelong pursuit. Remember that it is your key to success and you must make a commitment to practice it daily to see results.

The key in making those right choices. Each choice you make is like a length of steel wire. By itself, it’s not that big a deal, but when braded together, when compounded with all the other choices you make, these lengths of wire form a thick cable of awesome strength and power. Nothing is stronger than habit – Ovid

Positive and Negative Thoughts

A little something from my collection of famous and not so famous people’s quotes, although many have no names or tittles of who wrote them; it matters not but thank them any way as all have great meanings and thoughts for us all to learn from and use in our daily lives, enjoy!

Tears that roll down a face that no one wipes away.

he angst of hate that dwells behind a tortured face.

Hidden by a clowns smile.

Wondering what trouble will come their way.

Daring not to dream a fool’s hope.

Reality always shares a cruel fate.

For foolishness shall linger in the hearts of those who hope and wait.

The day we die is a misery for those we leave behind
The day we die is a test that we have done right for those we leave behind
The day we die brings sorrow and anger
The day we die brings “why”
The day we die is a test to those we leave and strength must prevail
The day we die is not fair but the pain has gone, the day we died
The day we die is the day we come alive in god’s hands
From a testing father

Start each new day with a commitment to do what’s right – regardless of what may come your way. — Eric Harvey and Steve Ventura
If you repeat something over and over to yourself, your subconscious mind will eventually begin to accept it as fact. When something has been accepted as truth by your subconscious mind, it will work overtime to transform the idea into physical reality. You can take advantage of this by programming your mind to think positive thoughts. Use self-motivators or affirmations to persuade your subconscious that you are capable of doing anything you wish. Repeat the self-motivator several times a day until it becomes an automatic reaction to recall a positive phrase whenever you begin to doubt yourself. Replace “I can’t” with “I will!”

Positive & Negative thoughts:
Your thoughts are both the words you hear in your head and the words you speak out loud. When you say to somebody, “What a beautiful day” you had the thought first and then spoke the words. Your thoughts also become your actions.
When you get out of bed in the morning, you had the thought of getting out of bed before you took action. You can’t take any action without thinking the thought first. It’s your thoughts that determine whether your words and actions will be positive or negative. But how do you know your thoughts are positive or negative? Your thoughts are positive when you think of what you want and love! And negative thoughts are what you don’t want and don’t love. It is that simple and that easy. There is no other way to take this but it is true!!
What ever you want in your life, you want it because you love it. Now take a moment and think about it. You do not want things you do not love, or do you? Every person only want’s what they love; no body want what they done love.
When you think or talk about things you want and love, like “I love those shoes” they are just what I want, your thoughts are positive and they will come back to you as the things you love-beautiful shoes!! hen you think and talk about the things you do not want or love, like “look at the price of those shoes, that is high way robbery” Your thoughts are now negative and negative thoughts will come back to you that you do not love them as they are too expensive!!
Most people think and talk about the things they do not love more than they think and talk about what they love, why? Because they give out more negative thoughts than love thus depriving themselves of all the good things in life! it is that simple.
It is impossible to have a great life without love. Because People who have great lives think and talk about what they love more than what they do not love! People who are struggling think and talk about what they do not love more than what they do love, even a pair of shoes!

“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life. The word is love” Sophocles (496-406 BC)

“Personal Development” part one of two

Dependability is the first foundation stone of good character.
People of character do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it, and according to agreed-upon conditions. They are the leaders, the individuals to whom others turn for guidance, because they have demonstrated that they care, that they can be trusted. If you respect yourself enough to keep commitments even when it’s inconvenient to do so, others will come to respect you too. Dependability, like any other character trait, is a habit. Begin today to develop the dependability habit. If you procrastinate or find it difficult to meet your commitments, start small. Promise yourself that you will be on time, for example, and manage your time so that you are. Soon you will find that it’s easier to keep other commitments as well.                    – Napoleon Hill

There has been a lot of research over many years from many famous and non famous people in the world of “Development” to assist you in understanding how to attain true health, wealth and happiness.

Be the type of person you wan't to meet_thumb[3]When first introduced to the world of personal development, I was one of those people that said “yeah right”. I fought the idea, but my reason for looking in the first place was more compelling than the reason (lack of belief in doing it) not to do it. Working on understanding how you tick is not a fun thing to do at first, because you can tend to focus on all the things that are wrong with you. You have to be willing to accept the fact that you are not perfect and could improve in a number of places. The good news is you also have just as great an opportunity to focus on the good that you have in you too.

Good personal development, that is personal development that allows you to develop personally over time, will take you on a tour of your mind, usually over about 90 days. Part of the trick is to stay with it, after all, you went to school to learn how to learn for 12 years, you may have gone to college to learn specialty skills for 2-5 years or more. The point is you will not understand yourself over night, it will take 90 days just to break into your mind and learn how to operate it and a lifetime to master it.

Have you ever taken the time to assess your good and bad points, understood the background to some of your “bad habits”, thought that you are supposed to be wealthy? If not, why not?

Everything we do is based on “beliefs”, beliefs are things that we develop over time, some of them are based on fact, some are based on fiction, while others are based on someone else’s beliefs. For example, we know that if you touch a stove-top element when it is hot, you will get burned. Maybe you learned this yourself and experienced the pain or you learned this from someone else that told you. Another example could be that you believe you will never be wealthy because either someone told you, or you have experienced it that way so far and have just given up. Shame on you!

Bill Gates, one man, has made over 50 Billion dollars and he is not the only one; he did it from nothing more than an idea. If he believed it when people told him that he could never be a Billionaire, he never would have become one. Bill Gates is a Billionaire because he is a student of personal development; he has learned how to set goals, visualize them and attain them by understanding how his mind works.

Freedom is a belief that most of us do not really understand, one would initially think that freedom would not have any limits or costs. Well, wake-up, if you live like most go and go to a job every day, you are only as free as the distance you can go away from your job so you can be back on time tomorrow.

Now, living Beyond Freedom is a lifestyle that most of us do not believe is possible. Here is the think, there is a life out there that you deserve to have, it can be found in yourself, you just need to know where it is hiding. Living Beyond Freedom will bring you into a whole new world, a world where you can attain true health, wealth and happiness.

So, go find some books, programs, etc. and begin to create the life you know you deserve. If you need some help finding the right ones, contact me and I will get you to the place that I know is best

Little value comes out of the belief that people will respond progressively better by treating them progressively worse. — Eric Harvey

To find what you seek in the road of life, the best proverb of all is that which says: Leave no stone unturned." Edward Bulwer Lytton

The Personal Poem

We all need someone & something, look within yourself are you that person?

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool To weep is to risk appearing sentimental To reach out to another is to risk involvement To expose your feelings is to risk rejection To place your dreams before a crowd is to risk ridicule
To love is to risk not being loved in return To go forward is to face the overwhelming odds is to risk failure
Risks must be taken because the greatest risk of all is to risk nothing The person who risks nothing does nothing has nothing and is nothing He may avoid suffering and Sorrow but he cannot learn and cannot feel, cannot change, cannot grow and cannot laugh Chained by his virtues he is a slave A person who risks is truly FREE

Passages of Positive power I have added as before, the main story in untouched

"Independent thinking alone is not suited to independent reality. Independent people who do not have the maturity to think and act interdependently may be good individual producers, but they will not be good leaders or team players. They are not coming from the paradigm of independence necessary to succeed in marriage, family or organizational reality" Stephen covey

You Can Have Everything You Want If You Accept Yourself Unconditionally

Greg GuyattIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

I was studying for a high school exam one evening when my grandmother brought me a snack and started to talk to me about life. Almost out of the blue, she told me that no matter what you do in life, “always think big.”

Her message served as a beacon for me to follow and lead me out of my limiting beliefs. I began high school as a 6 foot tall and 200 lb young man, but on the inside I was struggling. You see, I allowed the people in my life inside my head and let them wreak havoc.

Growing up, I developed a stuttering problem and was bullied often. I could have easily fought back, but I never really did because I wanted to be liked, make friends and fit in. My home life wasn’t much better. I couldn’t seem to win my father’s approval and no matter what I did, I never seemed to get a pat on the back. He always told me what was wrong, what I was lacking and was ultra-critical of me in anything that I did.

The Power of Kindness "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." Leo Buscaglia

I was desperate for external validation. My sole purpose in life was to tell others how great I was so that they could in turn tell me that I was okay, that I was good enough, and that there was nothing wrong with me. In other words, I was giving away my power to others’ judgement.

At 16 years of age, I began to pitch in the local baseball league. One day I took the mound against a team that I could dominate in my sleep. That day I was trying something new with my pitching mechanics which would make me better long term but it was playing havoc with my control. I couldn’t throw a strike. The harder I tried the worse it made it. That’s when I looked into the stands and I saw my Dad sitting there. It was rare for him to come to a game and of all the games for him to come to it had to be this one.

I saw him after the game and all I wanted was some kind words…. He looked at me and said, “That wasn’t your best game,” and walked away.

A few years ago, I finally realized why all this happened to me growing up and that I was 100% responsible. The universe was giving me situations to take my power back, make peace with the past and let go. But I never stepped up. Instead I would compromise on what I truly wanted in life and was plagued by so much guilt that I could never have what I wanted. I had a choice to make. I accepted self love, my power and my value to others at the deepest level.

Three weeks later I got a call from my father. He was upset, which had me concerned because my father doesn’t show emotion. As I anxiously listened for his words, he told me he was going to need a minute. He told me, “I never told you I was proud of you growing up and I should have. I’m just not very good at that kind of thing…. I’ve just been thinking about it recently.”

Isn’t that interesting… As soon as I saw myself differently inside, I got a call from my father giving me what I wanted to hear.

Understand how immensely powerful you can be. It’s no coincidence that my father called after I took responsibility for my life. Your external environment will mirror your internal environment.

Abundance is a positive emotion; positive emotions create positive energy."     Dr. Steve G. Jones

"We all want to attract quality relationships with people who share common interests and who will be supportive; using the Law of Attraction can help you create more meaningful friendships."                                                         Dr. Steve G. Jones

What can you get complete with in your life? What situation or pattern frequently exists in your life that you don’t like? It’s not an accident. You’re responsible for their origins.

Acknowledge that greatness that already lies within you and become the best version of yourself.

To understand the power and the magic of gratitude, you have to experience it for yourself. So why not begin by deciding to find 100 things a day to be grateful for?                                                                                                       If you practice gratitude every day it won’t take long before gratitude is your natural state of being, and when that happens you will have unlocked one of the greatest secrets to life.
