Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. – Mark Twain
What is the power of a kept promise
Think about the last promise that someone around you kept. They said they’d do something, and they actually delivered. You might not have thought much of it at the time, but it’s a pretty powerful event.
You don’t earn trust by asking for trust. You earn trust by showing that you are worthy of trust.
It’s the power of the promise.
And this is one of the less obvious, extremely simple, but very powerful benefits of the Platform approach to client attraction.
When you have a Platform i.e a newsletter, etc. That is published consistently, on a schedule, you begin your relationship with a prospect with a promise.
The promise is that you’re going to show up when you promised to show up.
Don’t discount the power of this over time. It means something. Who would YOU trust? The guy who actually shows up as promised or the one who shows up only when he wants something from you?
Show them they can count on you. You don’t have to say it, you just show it.
To achieve great things requires no great effort, just a modest effort repeated again and again. Start right now by improving one little corner and you’re on your way to change the world.
