How to stay Motivated

"Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can’t get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals." Bob Proctor

These Top 10 ways to stay motivated are a must, but can you stick to them?

  1) Plan ahead                                                                                        It stands to reason that you are much more likely to reach your goals if you plan properly.   Preparation is a key to success, so clear your cupboard of tempting treats, re-writing your shopping list, or memorise your activity schedule.  Once you have an agenda, you are much more likely to stick to it.

"Set higher standards for your own performance than anyone around you, and it won’t matter whether you have a tough boss or an easy one. It won’t matter whether the competition is pushing you hard, because you’ll be competing with yourself." Rick Pitino Basketball Coach, Author and Speaker

2)

Track your  progress                                                         Keep an eye on how well you are doing. If you have completed a week of abstinence, for example, your pride in that accomplishment can help keep you going for another week.  everything from checking money saved.by not buying “goodies” or a regular weigh-in if you are trying to lose weight  can give you the motivation to continue.

Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable." Wendy Wasserstein

3)

Find Inspiration                                                                              The internet is full of inspiring  articles written by people either on the same journey as you are, or who have achieved a similar goal, you just need to find them.  seek out online groups that share your goals and keep reading success stories, as they will keep you on track, if they can do it; You Can!

"People who say that life is not worthwhile are really saying that they themselves have no personal goals which are worthwhile… Get yourself a goal worth working for. Better still, get yourself a project… Always have something ahead of you to ‘look forward to’ – work for and hope for." Maxwell Maltz 1899-1975, Physician and Writer

4)Reward   Yourself                                                                              If you are trying to stop smoking, save the money you would have spent on cigarettes and buy yourself a treat at the end of the month.  you will find the money soon adds up.  If you are dieting allow yourself a cheat meal, that way you can give yourself something to look forward to every week and stop yourself feeling deprived.  If you are taking up a new activity or exercise, get the proper kit, if you look the part you will feel the part.

“Rewards are what you deserve for all the things you have done, will do and are grateful for, no matter what, the same can be said for the more you do for others is an even greater reward.”      Gray Lawrence

Forgiveness or No Forgiveness, The Choice is Yours

This wonderful message comes from Seth Godin.  A writer I love to hear from through his blogs. I have only added some PMA for an extra touch.

“Attitude is everything, young or old!”  Gray Lawrence

When access to information was limited we needed to load students with facts. Now, when we have no scarcity of facts, or the access to them, we need to load them up with understanding. Seth Godin

Has anyone ever said or done anything unforgivable to you? Something so awful you know you can never forgive them?

Probably this strikes a bell with most of my readers. It would certainly be rare to find someone who has never been mistreated, never misunderstood, never abused in one way or another. In some cases the abuse may have been particularly nasty. Something you would much rather forget, but find you cannot.

Does this person deserve your forgiveness? Probably not. Should you forgive them? Absolutely!

Why do I say this? If they don’t deserve your forgiveness, why should you forgive them? Am I trying to turn you into a saint or something?

No. I am not saying this to make you a “goody goody”. And I am certainly not suggesting you should allow anyone to take advantage of you. So why I am saying it?

The reason is that I believe you deserve to be free. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be able to do whatever you wish in life and not be weighed down carrying a load dumped on you by someone else.

If there is anyone you have not forgiven for what they have done or said to you this means you are allowing that person to control your life. You are giving them the ultimate victory over you. Is that what you want? If not, you simply have to find a way to forgive them.

Some of you may now be saying “it’s all very well for you to say that, but you don’t know how I have suffered! You cannot understand just how bad this was!”

I agree I cannot know what it is like to suffer in the way you may have suffered. To use a common Christian saying, we each have our own cross to bear. The one you are bearing may be far heavier than mine. But even though I cannot understand just how bad it was for you, what I do understand is that you are now carrying an unnecessary burden. Just like “Christian” in John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress”. Christian was carrying a burden so heavy he could hardly move. So are you if there is someone you have not forgiven. Your happiness is marred because every so often you think of this unforgivable thing that was done to you and it spoils what would otherwise be a lovely moment in a lovely day. Why not simply throw that burden away? It is not stuck to you with superglue. You have chosen to carry it. Now you should choose to throw it away.

There may be others who will say “but there is nobody I haven’t forgiven! Nobody has done anything particularly bad to me!” If so, you are very fortunate! But I would suggest there are probably some slights, some grievances, some humiliations that your conscious mind has forgotten but are still bubbling away somewhere under the surface. You do not feel desperately unhappy, but because there are some unforgiving words and actions loitering in your unconscious mind what could be a really happy moment is, instead, just mildly pleasant. These unforgiving things are stopping you reaching your full potential. They are controlling you.

Would you like to free yourself of this burden? Great!

The first thing you must do is find all the actions and words you have not yet forgiven. Some may be easy to find. Others will be hiding under the surface. Sit quietly and let them come to you.

Now, for each unforgiving act or word find the person. Picture that person in your mind. Say to them “I forgive you”. At first you will probably feel silly. But don’t worry about that. Nobody is watching you. Nobody is laughing at you. This is something you are doing for yourself so you can be happier.

As you do this you will find a part of your mind will tell you that this person does not deserve your forgiveness. You can immediately dispel that thought by saying “they may not deserve it, but I am forgiving them for me, not for them!” This other part of your mind may say it was totally wrong of them to do this to you. Respond by saying “I am not the one who will judge them for it, and I am not asking them or anyone else to do this again to me, I am just letting go so this act no longer controls me. I forgive!”

If you are a Christian you should remember the phrase in the Lord’s Prayer “Forgive me my wrongdoings as I forgive those who have done wrong to me”? Whether or not you are a Christian this is a phrase I would like you to remember and use. When you forgive others you will find that forgiveness of yourself comes quite naturally too. But give it a helping hand anyway. Add your own wrongdoings now. See them clearly and then forgive yourself. As long as you have forgiven others you should find you are now able to forgive yourself. When you do you really should find you feel light and buoyant. You have let go of your burden.

Try to perform this act of forgiveness every day. I suggest you do it last thing at night before you go to sleep, as you should find your sleep will then be that much more refreshing. Try it, let go, don’t allow anyone to control you any more and see just how much difference this makes in your life!

I may add the following: should you the reader be the person to improve and or agree to what Seth wrote, may I be the first to congratulate you on being a good person..

Try to be like the turtle – at ease in your own shell. – Bill Copeland

Seeking Tips on Personal Development

Develope your own compass and trust it

To seek out any or the best tips on how to organize personal development starts from within.  The field where one can search  is massive, and there are so many things you can do!

Try to begin with the end in mind.  I say “try” as the reality is none of us really knows where we will end up, and usually when you look back after many years of personal development you realize the journey has been quite different from what you initially envisaged.  But it is important at the outset at least to have a rough idea of what your goal may be.  Without knowing that you will not really know the direction you should be going, and without knowing the direction you will probably choose the wrong tools.  It would be a bit like starting on a journey, trying to follow a map, but not actually knowing where you want to go!  So spend some time thinking about what you want to become.  No limits.  Write down all your ideas as they come to you.  Then when you have enough written down try to feel which ones seem right for you.  This should help identify the right direction of travel for you.

When you are thinking about what you want to become, don’t be frightened of aiming for the stars.  We are all made of star dust anyway, so aim for those stars!

Change your mental attitude, and the world around you will change accordingly.
Your world will become what you choose to make it. You can reach great heights of success, or you can settle for a miserable life that is devoid of hope. The choice is yours. When you choose a positive course, you set in motion an unstoppable force that will allow you to have a fulfilling career, the love of your family and friends, good physical and mental health, and all of the other true riches of life. To change your world, you must change it from the inside out. You must begin with yourself. When you choose the course that puts your life on a positive track, you will change your life for the better, and you will also positively influence the people with whom you come in contact. Napoleon Hill

That’s for the big picture.  Long term, don’t accept any limitations.  There are no limitations.  Or, rather, the only limitations are the ones you create for yourself.

Now you know where you are headed, start to think about the steps you can take to move in that direction.  These can be very small steps.  In fact, they should be.  They are things you know you can achieve.  You probably have no idea how you are eventually going to reach your long term goal, but that doesn’t matter, as you will eventually reach it if you keep taking the right steps in that direction.

Keep an open mind.  You never know when the next opportunity is going to knock or which direction it will come from.  Often it is entirely unexpected.  Also opportunities will often appear and you will fail to spot them.  Do not be discouraged by this.  The more you open your mind, the more you get focused on what it is you want to achieve, the easier it will be to start spotting those opportunities.  You will certainly miss some, but that is not the end of the world as (contrary to what you may have read) similar opportunities will arise again.

Join groups of similarly minded people.  Ideally they will be people nearby, but this is not essential.  If there are no such groups near you then look for “virtual” groups on the internet.  Gain both encouragement and new ideas from the groups.  Ask others what tools they have used to achieve their results.  You will be surprised at how much information you can get and how helpful those new friends can be.

Do it now! Decide where you are going and how to get there. Then make a start from where you now stand. Napoleon Hill

The corollary is to avoid, where possible, people who try to discourage you and tell you that you will never achieve what you are trying to achieve.  There are many such people around, and they are really toxic.  You do not have to put up with this – just avoid them.

A lot of what you need will be available for free.  Take advantage of this.  You will be amazed at just how much good free information is out there.  If you really are going to improve your knowledge.

What you will also find, though, is that as you start to develop in a particular direction you will probably have to start paying for further help.  View this not as a cost but as an investment.  The most important investment you will ever make – an investment in you, your future, and your happiness.  A recommendation is to  start keeping aside 10% of whatever you earn to use as an investment in yourself.  Remember it is only a recommendation, but if you wish to grow;  Start right now! Before you even know what you will need to invest in – put this money aside, hopefully earning a bit of interest, so it is ready to use when you need it.

“Success is not a destination: It is a journey. The happiest people I know are those who are busy working toward specific objectives. The most bored and miserable people I know are those who are drifting along with no worthwhile objectives in mind.” Zig Ziglar

Don’t get confused by the huge variety of material out there.  Often you will find very similar systems offered by different people and organizations, all promising to help you reach your goals.  As long as the system is good, just go with whichever feels right to you.  There are many paths to the same destination.  As for whether or not it is good, do some research first.  Or let someone prominent in the field search through everything and come up with selective recommendations.

Enjoy your journey.  Remember that you will never reach the end, as your goal will start to change as you begin the journey and well before you reach it you will find you have come up with more goals even further ahead.  So take pleasure from the journey itself – otherwise, what is the point?

The road to success

Finally, do not become discouraged.  I cannot promise you there will be no  setbacks.  That is simply a part of the rich tapestry of life.  Accept the setback, see what you can learn from it (that is very important!) and then move on.  If you adopt this attitude then even the setbacks can be regarded as an essential part of the great journey you are taking, as they teach you essential lessons.

Wherever your personal development journey is taking you, enjoy!

If you allow yourself to worry or hurry in what you are doing, this will not be clearly photographed upon the sensitized plate of the subjective mind, and you therefore will not be really conscious of your actions. – The book of the Power of Concentration

Choosing the Right Network Marketing Business FOR YOU!!

The networked revolution is creating huge profits, significant opportunities, and a lot of change. What it’s not doing is providing millions of brain-dead, corner office; follow the manual middle class jobs. And it’s not going to.

Dreamers aren’t busy applying for jobs at minimum wage, they don’t eagerly buy the latest fashions, and they’re a pain in the ass to keep happy.

Dreams fade away because we can’t tolerate the short term pain necessary to get to our long term goal.

When trying to select which network marketing company to join, you should not just look at what they sell nor should you just look at what they pay. What you should look at is… the Package!

After all, their products / services may be the best of their kind in the whole world but if:

§ the commission is lousy, or

§ there is no demand for their products, or

§ the management screw everything up, or

§ your up line are not interested in you

…you will not see the company around for long!

When I look at companies, I always use the following seven criteria to determine the worth of the Package:

1. Trading In A Huge And Expanding Market

The network marketing company must be trading in a HUGE and EXPANDING market if it is to give itself every chance for success. As an example, music is a huge market but with the advent of CDs and DVDs would you now want to be setting up a new music business based on vinyl records? Of course not … it’s a huge but shrinking, not an expanding, market! On the other hand the anti aging skin care and nutritional supplements markets are huge and expanding ones as the baby boomers want to look, feel and stay younger.

2. Products / Services

I personally prefer to deal with Helping people to save money rather than consumable products. Consumable products are bought, used and then replaced on a regular basis … normally monthly. If you are going to deal with a consumable product, always check the potential for repeat orders from your customers. this can be hard work although rewarding “IF” people keep buying.

If the products are not consumable, make sure that there is a way to receive further income than for just a one-off sale – otherwise it is more a form of Direct Selling rather than network marketing.  Direct selling is something we all know about and feels more like pressure selling, but “SAVING MONEY is not, we all like to save money for those things we could not otherwise afford,. Income potential from any network marketing  (email for the book from the form to: gray@savewithsmallbills.co.uk business (MLM) is valued to your business strategy and effort & determination.

Look at what the company is offering or selling and ask yourself, “could I be proud to build an empire with these products / services?”

If not, keep looking!

3. Fair Pay Plan

Now, do not expect to FULLY understand all aspects of any network marketing company’s pay plan the first time you are shown it – some (most actually!) are complicated and need time to absorb. Having said that, DO expect to be able to understand it after a little while.

There is really only one thing you need to know about the company pay plan and that is – does it work?

Does it give you a fair return for the effort you are going to put in? Is there any proof of substantial incomes being made by distributors who have been working the business for two or three years?

4. Experienced Management

If you are going to invest your future with a network marketing company, it is only prudent to make sure that they are `healthy’ and under control of an experienced and capable team. Do as many checks as you can on the company and even ask the company if they will make information available to you. They will probably say, `No’ but if you do not ask… you do not get!

If the company you are looking at has been around for more than 10 years, and is continuing to grow, it would appear that the management is capable of successfully running a business.  my own personal MLM is growing daily and has been for over 2o years AND it is a UK business!

If you are looking at a newer company, you will definitely want to research the experience and successes of the management team. Just because a person was a great network marketer, does not mean that he or she will be a great businessperson – failures by such people in this industry have proven this point.

In fact, most owners of successful network marketing businesses have never been network marketers themselves. They are entrepreneurial business people who saw a need in the market and the power of network marketing and had the confidence to put their money where their mouth is and use their skills to build their businesses.

5. Support Team

A well-used acronym in Network Marketing is T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More. It is very suitable for our industry because the people in your Up line Support Team truly have a vested interest in your success.

Your Sponsor may be new to this business, too, so ask him or her to introduce you to, or 3-way you into, members of your Up line Support Team. Ask questions:

§ How successful are they

§ How long have they been with this company

§ Did they have previous experience

§ Did they bring in people from their last company

§ What support will they be giving you

Here is a good place to remind you that the ONLY way to be successful in this business is to help others become successful. Your Up line Support Team has a very strong vested interest in your success.

6. Training

There must be a commitment to training, support and communication. Find out how the company puts this commitment into practice?

When and how will you receive training, and how much will it cost you – if anything.

Many leaders (like myself) have their own separate distributor training systems in place and if there is one in place for your team, find out how much it will cost.

7. You MUST Be Passionate About The Package

As I have already said, it is the package that you must look at not just the individual components.

Once you have reviewed the company package, you must decide whether it is the right one for you. You must feel comfortable with it as it is going to be the vehicle that will carry you forward to your goals.

One thing to remember is that no company will be absolutely perfect and never have problems – ALL companies have problems, as do those in all other industries. I like this titbit from Tom Schreiter (Big Al) fortunenow.com:

“Amateurs look for the perfect business with the perfect product, with the perfect timing, with the perfect price, with the perfect management, with the perfect plan, with the perfect support team…

Well, you get the picture. These people are always frustrated and switching companies, looking for a business without problems.

News flash: All businesses have problems.

Professionals know all businesses have problems. They simply choose the business they wish to have their problems with.”

You cannot at this moment fully understand the business – it takes years to gain knowledge and experience. What you can understand is the way you feel about it. Does it feel right? Do you believe that all of the criteria are in place for you?

The most important question is, “Do you really feel that over the course of time you could become passionate and excited about the package?”

If “Yes” – great, you have found the company for you.

If, “No” – keep looking because without passion and excitement you will not succeed.

After all, if YOU cannot feel passionate and excited about the company, why would you expect others to feel any different?

The decision is yours!!

The method by which DESIRE for riches can be transmuted into its financial
equivalent, consists of six definite, practical steps,

First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount. (There is  a psychological reason for definiteness) .                                                                  Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you  desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.)
Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.
Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.
Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ—SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY..

Be Inspired by Rodolfo Costa

“As your faith is strengthened you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit – Wingate Paine

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

Rodolfo CostaChanging and improving our attitude can help us change the way we see and do things. I have learned that a positive mental attitude is far more important than aptitude to succeed in life. I also learned that it is not easy at first because we all have been conditioned since we were born to see and do things and in many cases to think a certain way. But with practice we can improve our attitude.

Here are my top ten tips to build and maintain a positive mental attitude:

1. Stay away from negative and pessimistic people.

2. Do not complain and blame others for your mistakes, problems, misfortunes and setbacks. You are responsible for your actions and consequences, you are responsible for your life and circumstances.

3. Be more in touch with your thoughts and feelings, but do not get carried away by your worries. No matter what, make the conscious decision to start your day, everyday, in a positive and optimistic way.

4. Always work on maintaining a positive attitude about things. We all know that we can not always control what happens in our lives, but we can always control how we react to what happens in our lives. This will help you build the courage, confidence and motivation to change, improve and find a solution to your problem.

5. Learn to adapt. Things change, circumstances change. Adjust yourself and your efforts to what it is presented to you so you can respond accordingly. Never see change as a threat, because it can be an opportunity to learn, to grow, evolve and become a better person.

6. Face your reality with courage. Take a good and careful look at your situation and allow yourself time to think. See where you are now and decide what you want and where you want to be. Make up your mind, build the enthusiasm, and go for it. Realize that you have the ability and the potential to change yourself and to change things.

7. Concentrate on the beautiful things in your life. Never compare yourself with others. You are unique; there is nobody else like you and you are capable of doing great and wonderful things with you life.

8. Look for better or different ways to do things. Allow yourself to see beyond what others think is possible, wise or practical. Be proactive and be part of a solution, not part of a problem.

9. Be in charge of your life. Do not think and assume that what happens to you is your destiny. It is not! If you think that way you will give a message to your brain to stop looking for ideas or solutions to your problems. Do not make excuses to relieve yourself from your responsibilities. Keep in mind, if you do not control your life and future somebody else will, whether you like it or not.

10. Work on your attitude and learn to control it. Always remember, if you are not careful, your attitude will control you.

Your life is a learning process – you can only become wiser from learning. Sometimes you might have to attract making a painful mistake to learn something important, but after the mistake you have far greater wisdom. Wisdom cannot be bought with money – it can only be acquired through living life. With wisdom comes: strength, courage, knowing, and an ever-increasing peace. May the joy be with you, Rhonda Byrne
