We are Souls on a Human Journey

Topics: Love, Perspective, Purpose, Questions, Taking Action

Camille LucyIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

If there were one important – or invaluable – message I could share with the world, it would be that we are souls on a human journey.  Our physical bodies, material possessions and thoughts rooted in fear all boast impermanence and superficiality.

This human experience is merely a playground for our souls. A classroom, if you will. Life on earth is a chance to physically express ourselves, to grow our divinity amidst a variety of challenges.

We are love. Our roots, our core, our very being is love and light energy. We are intertwined, interconnected to everyone and everything. Such is the magic of life. Magnificence can be found every where we look, in every breath we take.

Hold on to the concept of impermanence, the vision of your purpose here. Your soul is on a journey to express, share and become love. Anything else is human, man-made and finite. You will not look back on this life and wish you had more earthly possessions or drama. You will not be proud that you stirred the pot. On the contrary, you will review your life and measure your success here by the love you gave away, and the love you felt for yourself. The gratitude you cultivated, and the wonder you experienced. The blessings you recognized, and the ones you fostered for others.

The dramas that unfold in our day to day human lives are fruitless in nature, though in all hardship is an opportunity to stretch and grow and open our eyes a little wider. Each breath we take in is a chance to begin, again. To wipe the slate clean and start anew. You can choose love at any moment, in every moment.

When making decisions, acting or reacting, question the root of how you feel and what you are about to do. Is it based out of love… or fear? Is this a decision that will enhance your life and the quality of your experience here? Will it enhance the life of others? In what ways can you lovingly express your feelings and actions? If today were your last day on this planet, in your human costume, what would you do, how would you act and what would you say?

Removing yourself from the disguise allows a shift in perspective. It also releases built-up toxins, opening up space for more positive experiences, thoughts and feelings. Those which serve you and the highest good.

In the truth lies freedom. Freedom from pain, fear and judgment. It unlocks a new world, one where mistakes are merely bumps in the road that propel you in the right direction. Acknowledging who you really are, what you really are, gives you the ability to reroute the course, recognizing what is working for you, and what is not. It gives you permission to walk in your own truth. To be authentic and bold. To explore. To stand up against that which previously knocked you down. To live fully and enjoy this priceless gift called life.

Setting and understanding GOALS

From The Secret Daily Teachings

No person or power in the outside world can compare to the power you have within you. Seek the power within, as it knows the perfect way for you.                                                                                                                           May the joy be with you.  Rhonda Byrne

Whenever you set a goal to attain something, the only thing that can hinder you from reaching it is yourself. Sometimes we are too pessimistic that we tend to limit ourselves. If you really want to achieve something, there are plenty of ways to do it but if you don’t want to achieve something, there are plenty of excuses. Bottom line, success ultimately rely on how bad you really want it.

“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiastic about.” Charles Kingsley

On everyone’s short list of things to do during their lifetime are the accomplishment of worthy goals and the fulfilment of one’s purpose.
Achieving a goal is like opening a combination lock. You need the correct numbers in the correct right, left, right sequence. There are thousands of possible combinations; and if you are aware of the settings but not the sequence, your efforts will prove futile.

The Ten Rules of Goal Setting is the combination that opens the lock of success. Each rule is one piece of the combination; each seamlessly integrates with the other nine; each one counts!
There is a book “Ten Rules of Goal setting” I apologise as I have lost the name of the writer! you will be hard pressed
to find a goal that does not require each of these ten rules.
Not all goals are equal, but all goals contain the same foundational elements.
When it comes to setting goals, we often don’t know what we don’t know.
And, what you don’t know can ad most likely will hurt
you by limiting or compromising your success.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas Edison

Each rule calls for and requires know-how of multiple disciplines. No one is born with all the talents to achieve a goal—you learn as you go on the fly!
Everyone needs to know how to set and achieve a goal. Everyone needs an awareness of proportion and a keen sense of the possible. Everyone needs the will to pursue his or her dreams and to know what it takes to taste victory.
If I could carve ten rules for achieving a goal into the walls of your mind, they would be the ones contained in this book. The ten rules work because they are simple, and they are simple because they work.

Life is too short to waste. Dreams are fulfilled only through action, not through endless planning to take action.” David J. Schwartz

The potential for personal growth and personal expression—as well as for mind-boggling personal wealth—makes this a time of opportunity…a time to create the kind of life that previous generations could not imagine. That is why goal setting is so important.

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” Bill Cosby

Success is individual. Your definition of “the good life” may be very different from others’. Yet the underlying steps toward that end are the same. That similarity helps you to understand what success really is.

The only difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is extraordinary determination.” Mary Kay Ash

Success is the ability, first, to recognize opportunity; second, to form plans and strategies that leverage opportunity; and, third, to develop the necessary skills needed to execute those strategies.

“Remember, the thoughts that you think and the statements you make regarding yourself determine your mental attitude. If you have a worthwhile objective, find the one reason why you can achieve it rather than hundreds of reasons why you can’t.” Napoleon Hill

The ten rules, like anything else in life, operate best if they are self-enforced!
Success is beautiful because of how it looks to you, how it works, how it feels, and how it represents the fulfilment of goals pursued. Grow accustomed to prosperity and confident in the process of achieving a goal. Embrace these ten rules of goal setting and give witness to a powerful transition in your life.
My goal is simply to help you achieve yours by teaching you the correct combination and correct sequence. for the book try this persons name, should you wish to purchase it :(Gary Ryan Blair)

Know yourself! Watch how you manifest the small things in life and think about how you felt inside with those things. Think about how easily they came. You will find that you thought of a small thing once and never thought about it again, and then it manifested.     What really happened was you didn’t think any thoughts or speak any words which contradicted what you wanted, so the law of attraction was able to do its work.  May the joy be with you, – Rhonda Byrne The Secret

Invest in yourself you are worth it

Impossible
Through some strange and powerful principle of “mental chemistry” which she has never divulged, Nature wraps up in the impulse of strong desire “that something” which recognizes no such word as impossible, and accepts no such reality as failure.                     – Napoleon Hill

Investing in Yourself

Invest in YOU skills are more precious than Gold_thumb[1]If you are interested in personal development it is important you commit to investing in yourself. No matter what it is you want to improve, no matter what you want to achieve, it will almost certainly require an investment or will be much better and be achieved much quicker with the right investment.

Start by listing the areas of improvement to which you wish to commit. This can be in a very wide area, and I am not limiting myself at all to one particular niche. Have a look at my previous article about the Top Ten New Year Resolutions. All ten are perfectly acceptable self improvement goals, and you can probably add quite a few more to this list.

Take a look around and see what resources are out there which could help you make serious inroads on those improvements you desire. Examine them carefully. There are a lot of scams out there, but there are also a lot of diamonds if you look carefully enough. Try to find at least one for each of the areas on your list. Don’t worry at this stage about how much money they may cost. All that should concern you right now is whether you believe they will help you achieve your goals better or faster, or both.

Once you have come up with the list of investments you want to make in yourself and are reasonably comfortable that, at least for now, this is a fairly complete list, the next step is to work out how you will pay for them.

One problem many people have, though, is that after they have paid all their monthly bills there is no money left to invest in themselves.

What may surprise you, though, is that no matter how much you earn you will almost certainly still find there is no money left after paying the bills. How can this be?

Parkinson’s Second Law

Success is not to be measued by the position but by the obstacles they have over come_thumb[3]The answer lies in Parkinson’s Second Law. You have probably heard his First Law – “work expands to fill the available time”. But perhaps you missed the Second Law – “expenditure rises to meet the available income”. Parkinson’s Second Law is often applied to bureaucracies and they way they can needlessly spend our money. But it is equally applicable to personal expenditure.

The corollary of Parkinson’s Second Law is that if you look carefully at your spending you will always find cuts you can make without impacting noticeably on your overall lifestyle.

Your first step should therefore be to examine your budget very carefully. Pretend you are a business which is not making profit. Step back and look at that business as if you were the finance director (or maybe the bank manager!). I think you will be surprised by some of the cuts you could make and still continue to enjoy life just as much.

It’s a sure thing that you’ll not finish if you don’t start.
An ancient proverb says, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” You have probably known people nearing the end of their life’s journey who looked back and said, “If only I had done things differently. . . . If only I had taken advantage of that opportunity when it came along.” Unfulfilled lives are filled with “if only’s”. They are the refrain of the timid souls whose lives were finished before they ever really got started. Life is filled with many opportunities — for great successes and spectacular failures. It is up to you to seize the initiative, to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. You are condemned to a life of mediocrity — unless you get into action. Don’t delay; do it today! – Napoleon Hill

Pay Yourself First

Once you have done this, regard yourself as your own primary creditor. You owe yourself a lot of money, so start paying it back.

Pay yourself first. Before you pay anyone else. Do not feel guilty about doing this. Every day of your adult life up to now you have paid everyone except yourself. Now it is your turn!

How much should you pay yourself? Well, that depends, of course. It depends on many factors. Not least of which is how much you managed to save off your budget – make sure at least half of this goes to you. Some coaches suggest it should be a minimum of 10% of your gross earnings. But again I stress this depends on your own circumstances and budget. Just don’t allow it to be whittled down to almost nothing!

Put it in savings and investments that you resolve not to touch except when investing in yourself.

Create a Second Income

Money[7]

Whether you work for someone else or have your own business you should consider ways of creating a second income. You can then reserve most of this new income to invest in yourself (well, the profit on it – as there will always be expenses).

One way you can do this is to set up an online marketing business. There are some major advantages of choosing this route rather than, for example, finding an additional part time job somewhere.

The first advantage is that you will be completely in control. You can invest as much or as little time as you like. As your business grows you may decide to give up your "day job" and spend all your working hours moving your internet business forward – but that is entirely up to you. There will be no boss looking over your shoulder telling you to speed things up or do things differently. Of course, you should also recognise this can be a disadvantage – you will need to have some good self-discipline to ensure you spend enough time doing the right things.

The second advantage is linked to the first. You do not have to work on specific days or at specific times. You can choose when to do this work. If you wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep you can sit at the computer and do something to move your online business forward.

The third advantage is that once you have set up your business properly it will begin to generate profits for you even if you do not put a lot of effort in to grow it. You will need to continue doing some work in order to maintain it, so I do not believe it is correct to call it "passive income", but it should certainly generate you high profits for not a great deal of work as long as you have built it correctly.

Be aware, though, that as with any other business an online marketing business will require you to invest time and effort. Do not be misled by claims you will often see that suggest this is a miracle "instant millionaire" formula. It is not! You can certainly become very wealthy if you choose to do so, but this will not happen over night.

You will also probably find there will be a few false starts before you get your own formula right. Ideally you should take advice from an internet marketing coach who has been there and done that and who can stop you needing to re-invent the wheel yourself. This will not be cheap, but it will save you making costly mistakes and ultimately ensure you reach your goal faster if you choose the right coach.

Invest in Yourself

You can be certain that if you invest all your time in work you don’t care about, your spirit will die." —  Oprah

Once you have started this habit of paying yourself first, and have perhaps additionally created your second income, start to invest with this money. Not in company shares. Not in bricks and mortar. You are going to invest in something far more valuable than that. You are going to invest in yourself

Decisions
People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often. – Napoleon Hill

You Are Brave, Bold, Loving, Kind and Confident

Sandip SekhonIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

Your job, your absolute duty is to embrace every feeling that increases long-term happiness. Nothing else is more important. Once you live by this guideline, every single day will be happier than the day before you read this email. Just by reading this sentence, you have already sparked long-term positive change that will only increase as you read on and make my suggestions your own.

From now on, in every situation, you will be brave, bold, loving, kind and confident. Take a second to reflect on each of those words and what they mean for you.

Tell yourself everyday that you are all of that and more. Every. Single. Day. Within a week you will inhibit and exhibit each of those qualities more than you did before.

Avoid hate and anger. If you feel them coming over you, take a deep breath and remember what you told yourself the day before. That you’re brave, bold, loving, kind and confident. Your illuminated day has no time for negative thoughts and feelings. You know these feelings. You understand them and you decide that you will only embrace positivity.

Sure, you may slip up from time to time. But once you have taken a step back, you WILL be able to deal with any situation better with your new-found positive qualities. Embody them. Starting today, when someone describes you, they will use one of these. Hear them say it: “You’re brave, bold, loving, kind and confident”.

These qualities will naturally take you further into your journey of inspiration, positivity and learning. By reading this, you have already shown that you are one of the few people in the world that consciously seeks improvement. Embrace that. Let it shine in your daily life.

Continually remind yourself of what each of these words that you now embody really mean; being brave, bold, loving, kind and confident.

Love your new suit or dress but concerned that others might not? Arouse your inner confidence and I promise you will look and feel amazing.

Are you dealing with an unreasonable or rude client? Treat them to your endless kindness – they will have no option but to melt in your presence.

Is your child testing your limits? Set a spectacular example of yourself by being all that you are in one go: brave, bold, loving, kind and confident.

There’s a reason for my repetition of those words. By reading them again and again, by experiencing the emotions associated to them, you have fired the right connections in your brain so those positive feelings are stronger than when you started this email. You have just passed the first step to live a happier, more positive life. Keep going, I promise it’ll be worth it.

Eileen McDarghIf I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I’d want to pass along to others…

I’ve been called the “Woman of Independent Means.” Funny, but it seems to capture all the vigour and verve of self-sufficiency, achievement and hard core measurable goals which marked my passage and intentions upon entering the decade of the 90s. I determined to change the world, to make quantum leaps in financial gain, to publish and to produce. After all, 40 was upon me and time a’fleeting.

Now, closer to 60 than to 40, I realize that the better triumphs have not come from reaching these goals but in the shadows and nuances of missing them. When things have not gone as planned and I am forced to stop in pain and confusion, I learn and grow more. And I discover how very dependent we are upon an external world to help us see meaning and discover the deeper purpose behind the seemingly meaningless. It is impossible to truly be a “woman or man of independent means.”

I have discovered that for every beast in the wilderness, there are angels in attendance. Just at that point when I am whipping myself for failures, someone comes along to remind me of some difference I never knew I made. I was looking to “win them all”. The far greater impact came from “winning one”. When I’m feeling most unlovable, some angel appears to whisper in my ear. Yes, I am dependent upon my angels.

I have discovered that unspeakable moments of beauty abound when least expected. In a juvenile “shelter” for girls from the ages of 12-17, where street-smarts and supposed hard hearts conspire to create a short lifespan of crime, I found honesty, fear and a deep desire to be loved and to love. In the bewildered, child-like brain of a failing grandfather, I found humour and humanity. And in the frightening onslaught of a lightening and hail storm atop a 12,000-foot peak, I found a sliver moon behind the clouds. I am dependent upon the experience.

I have discovered that the road away from self-absorption is other-absorption. When I am throwing a pity party, the quickest cure is to help someone else. It can be as simple as telling the store clerk that she has beautiful eyes. It can be as time-consuming as sitting with a lonely widow and letting her recall stories of her past.. Truth be told, often I’d rather whine and complain. I am dependent upon the needs of others to move me out of myself.

I have also discovered that I like myself better as a human being rather than a human doing. Talking to roses can sometimes be better than speaking to thousands. Giving myself permission to “be” rather than “do” remains a daily struggle. I am dependent upon the tug of time.

And lastly, dear reader, I do not wish to go quietly into the next decade. I’ll admit to needing bifocals and oestrogen but I have no intention of aging. I’ll trade exercise for cheesecake and Chardonnay. I’ll forgo naps for too-late parties and choose time with my sweet spouse over a bursting bank account. I’ll arrange to throw my old self away, to moult the dry skin of complacency so I can discover what is new to be learned and experienced.

These are intentions, not goals. Some days I live intentionally– other days, unintentionally. We’ve all been in that knee-jerk, where-did-the day go mode. I need daily reminders to pay attention to what I intend to create: a life by design and not default. By realizing my dependency on life as my teacher, my greatest wisdom comes from just plain showing up today and living NOW. From NOW comes a day that is WON.
